308 just took the lead. Stuck a case real bad in my redding small base die, got one gun real tight chambered, and it's a pita to load for. Don't forget about the crimps...I'm not quite like hoser yet with multiple 1050's, so it's hand swagging for me...

Next is a 338rum...powder hog

Biggest PITA for me is the 22 hornet. I load on a Dillon 550B and the cases wobble in the shell holder. The slightest misalignment of the bullet results in a crushed case mouth. When you are loading three or four thousand it gets tiresome.

280 Ackley, most finicky beast I ever come across

357 sig. I have about 15% crushed case mouths. If I bell, not enough neck tension, no bell, shaved plating/ crushed cases.

223 has given me fits with stuck cases an hours of bbrass prep.

270 win has the most picky down pat for accuracy. .2 grains and you are completely out of the zone and its uber picky on billed weight.

Btw. I never got a hornet or 357 sig because of exactly what was posted here.

I have to say that 300wtf is up there also. It just seems like it's process process process....223/308 military brass is about the same, until i got my 1050 for 223. Made all the difference in the world with 2 toolheads. 1 for trimming, resizing and decapping, and the other for loading.

update...

I also picked up a lee pro 1000 for decapping for SSM cleaning. It speeds up the dillon because now i don't have to deal with the junk from spent primers in the dillon. On the lee, they fall through a hole i drilled in a mounting plate down a tube and into the trash. Very easy to clean up.

Loading teeny bullets in .223 with ham hands means I have to pick up every fourth one off the floor. Even worse with a flat base bullet.

I hate all loading about equally. I despise .45ACP on a progressive a little less than everything else as long as I'm using jacketed bullets, not lead.

Biggest PIA is 5.7 x28FN. VERY labor intensive!

.300 Win Mag always drives me nuts. My buddy shoots it out of a BAR, and I hate belted magnums.

6.5x47 Lapua is a straightforward cartridge to load for.... except for the dearth of data available from reputable sources.

I worked some loads up using 308 Winchester and sabots holding 22 cal. 62g bullets. Ended in frustration and not quite finished my goal of 4000 fps. The worst part isn't assembly, it's the damage and time loss trying to set your chronograph at a distance so that the muzzle blast doesn't blow the sky screens off or beat the crap out of the chronograph with spent sabots. The secret is to put the right amount of crimp. There isn't a canular so if you crimp to hard the fingers come off the bullet and if you don't crimp at all your ignition will be erratic. Also if you seat a round to deep and want to reseat it, forget it, the bullet comes out and the sabot stays put. I stopped at 3700 fps and think someone could get 3900-4000 fps. Accuracy was getting worse as velocity went up.33751

7mm Remington Magnum is sure causing me a ton of angst right now. Trying to get a load ready for Elk season in either a 160 or 175 grain Nosler Partition or 150gr Nosler E-tip. Inconsistent results in velocity, pressures, brass life etc. Never had an issue like this with any of the other calibers I've loaded for. I'm about to get my rifle checked for headspace and maybe get the chamber polished, and/or get new dies. Im using RL22 and IMR7828 for the heavy bullets and RL19 and IMR4831 for the E-tips. Infuriating since my buddy and I hit a great load on the first try ladder with his 300 Weatherby that nearly duplicates Nosler data but with less powder.

Well, a couple things I can tell you from experience is that Reloader 22 is really temperature sensitive, so if you're doing a hunting load, test it at 30-50 degrees. I still use it in the '06 with 180 accubonds, but it's a different load at 30 degrees than it is at 75 degrees. The other, which you probably know, is that E-tips are all gilding metal / no lead. This makes them very long. In my brief attempts to use them up, I discovered the 180 etips I tried worked well on the low end, but trying to get a performance load out of them was tough. They also smeared that gilding metal all down my bore... lands AND grooves... and it was a real pain to get out. Take a flashlight and look. That might be your problem right there.

.380 ACP. My RCBS Chargemaster runs on sloooow for the full charge, takes forever. Then my big hands can barely hold on to the stuff going to the press.
But, all in all, I enjoy reloading everything I have. Oh, and shooting it, too!

.40 Super and 7mm Rem Mag are the only 2 of the 20+ I reload for that I do not relish. I have loaded .40 Super twice and I have about 1200 loaded for it now, so maybe i am good for life. Will have to do 7mm Mag again this spring. The rest seem pretty easy, but never tried 5.7, that does look like a PITA.
