Now and then I get a mailer for the NRA's next big giveaway. I'm sure many of you have or will be getting this latest one, the "banned guns" raffle. I was just wondering if anyone here has ever won or known someone that won one of these mail in raffles. Friends of the NRA banquets don't count.

I "won" a free cheapo knife with my lifetime membership. And lots of junk mail about life insurance I should buy. Does that count?

I got a stainless steel Thermos one year. Doesn't hold a lot but keeps coffee hot overnight.

I got a subscription to field and steam that I didn't subscribe to so I assume its from them...

I apparently won an unwanted DVD subscription.

The junk mail usually gets tossed without even opening, and I guess I must have thrown away one of the training DVDs that they bill you for if you don't mail it back to them.

I just renewed for 3 years and they're sending me a free stainless steel multi-tool. I'm sure it's a tiny leatherman knockoff, made in China.
Come on NRA, can't you spend our money more wisely than that!?! I'm also supposed to get a free digital only (no magazines in the mail) subscription to American Rifleman.

Wait a minute!!! I thought I was special because I "won" the same thing. Now I find out I wasn't the only one....

I got a cheapo black flip knife a few years ago and an even cheaper mini tool look alike this year for renewing. Both made in China. Oh, and the offers of life insurance, life lock and wine club come every few weeks in my email. Plus some offers for guided trophy hunts that run $10k.

Thank goodness they don't have my e-mail address, just the PO box.
