When was the last time you flipped somebody the bird?

I thought about it today while I was driving, but changed my mind.

I do it daily when people have their head so far up they're ass that they can't see me riding my motorcycle and they try to run me over. When I'm driving my cummins I never do it, when someone pisses me off I just get in front of them and let the coal roll its the best part of a big scary diesel truck[ROFL2]

Oddly enough I was thinking about your late post about the illegal revenue collector, I mean photo radar van.

Honestly, haven't done it in a LOOOOOONG time ... certainly haven't done it since I got my first CCW. When I'm armed, I just don't feel like taking any chances on a confrontation getting out of control.

I had a Denver policeman tell be that they can ticket you for that under Colorado's Road Rage law. I never looked it up though so I haven't a clue if he what he said was what the law actually is or just the way some police apply it.

That said I am a frequent flipper.

Seems like that would interfere with freedom of speech and expression, US Constitution, Amendment 1.

Ya, if you want a sup who leaves you alone, never answers his phone even when he is on call, won't get anything done, and likes to leave his guys out to dry he is OK. But if you need anything done you have to call a different sup. I can't even transfer to get away from him!

But up here we have the good ole boy club of the 30 year guys running everything so not much gets done and a lot of stuff gets hid.

I flip off anyone with an Obama sticker, or any sort of self-righteous, liberal prose plastered on their back window. But I do it subtly so as not to create situations for myself, as Aloha mentioned.

I think the last time I actually went out of my way to ensure the person saw me and I wasn't joking with friends was when some sh*thead tried to run me off the road where 70 forks at the 76/70 section past Wadsworth. I get onto 70 at Wads and have to immediately jump over a lane to get onto 76 for work each morning. People have no concept of what lanes vehicles merge in and won't let you merge. I rage on a regular basis for about 15 seconds every weekday morning.

It has been a while for me flipping someone off but i got flipped off 2 days ago! i hate stupid drivers with a passion!!!! This dude was turning right and you can turn on a red right there and i let him sit there for what seemed like 5 minutes and i finally gave him a little honk didnt even lay on my horn and out pops the passanger of the vehicle leaning out of the window giving me not one but two birds! Teenage drivers kill me... I was once a teenage driver but i was more of a nascar driver... not a sit and text or smoke pot deuche

It's been a while. I've come to the conclusion that if they cut you off or make some other driving error intentionally, being flipped off won't bother them. If the act was unintentional they probably feel bad about it already.

Ronin13

I probably do it daily when encountering stupid drivers (they're multiplying up here in Evergreen), but I keep it below the dash so that they don't see it... ya know, being armed, I'd rather not start a confrontation.

There is this nasty little code within the Colorado Revised Statutes about Harassment. Basically defining it as words or actions designed to provoke. Leaves it very open to the PD interpretation and therefore the best reason not to is Ronin's

..I keep it below the dash so that they don't see it... ya know, being armed, I'd rather not start a confrontation.

Heard a radio DJ talking about it recently, he has started giving people the thumbs down instead. Limits provocation, and makes me smile just doing it.

This morning. I do it way too often, though I try to keep it out of their vision, usually just an extended finger from a hand on the wheel or below the dashboard. Never really did it much until I moved here and had to deal with the people on the roads. People cut you off in MI, but it's usually because they are going faster than you and are leaving you behind. Here they cut you off on the highway and then slam on their brakes, so they were willing to go over the speed limit to get ahead of you, but then go back under once they are in front. That's what grinds my gears the most here about driving.

I recieve more than I give on the road, I don't drive in town much and the county roads I use are chuck full of bicyclist. Most of the riders stay to the right and I give them a good amount of space, it's the groups/mobs than think they're in a race are the ones I have no use for. I pull a trailer about 50% of the time, when I get the finger while pulling I lock up the trailer breaks and watch them scatter, when I'm not pulling I spool up the turbo for them.

Last month, for the first time since college.

I was on my bike training for the charity Copper Triangle ride. No more than a 1/2 mile from home when a diesel F series duly rolls up next to me. He revs hard then lets out the clutch, just to make a huge black cloud and piss me off. Jackass. I gave him the bird as he sped away.

I don't think I've actually meant that gesture, in a decade. I've flipped friends off before, but only to be funny.

in traffic about three weeks ago, guy in a 36 foot bounder dragging his jeep, we are behind him in a 55 mile an hour zone, he signals a left turn and gets into the turn lane to make the left, as i start to pass him in the travel lane with my dually and 35 foot laredo, fucker turns right to stop on the shoulder. it was everything i could do to get my rig stopped,

I think i sprained my road rage finger that day

Sorry to resurrect the dead but I had to share.

It bears noting that I never returned his one finger salute.

Getting on I-25 at Hwy 52 today I was behind a green Saturn coupe. He had turned on his right turn signal to turn from 52 onto the on ramp and never turned it off (merged two lanes to the left in the on ramp with his right signal still on, traffic violation right there). We merged onto I-25 (me with my left turn signal on, him still with his right). Semi passed us in the center lane and I got behind him. Douche nozzle, still with his right turn signal on, started to pull into me so I turned my left signal on in haste and got into the far left lane (nobody was coming so I didn't have to cut somebody off). Douche nozzle decided he wanted in front of me but couldn't get there because I was already in the left lane.

Smart guy's response was to fly in behind me (still with his right turn signal on) and run up my arse end (not even half a car length away). I could see him cussing at me and giving me the middle finger. He's motioning at me to get off into the right shoulder...I'm guessing he wanted to fight. I tried to tell him to look at his turn signal because he still had not turned off the damn right turn signal but he apparently thought I was mouthing off to him. So he popped back in behind me (he had to get back into the left lane so obviously he still had his right turn signal on) and continued giving me the finger and trying to get me to pull over and fight him.

This guy was full of piss and vinegar but even after he turned off his signal (several miles down I-25) he was still acting like I had done something wrong. He was kind enough to take a picture of the back of my car with his cell phone (while driving 80 MPH) so he'll know who I am in the future.

I made sure to get off the highway so he couldn't follow me because honestly, my gun is to protect me against thugs, and I'm not going to fight someone for being stupid. I grew up and learned to drive in Northern Virginia and D.C. so I know what road rage is. I also know that if you're in the wrong, trying to pick a fight with an armed person is the dumbest thing you can do (stupid even if you're not in the wrong). Just suck it up, buttercup and admit you were in the wrong. Next time check your fucking turn signal to make sure you didn't just make a stupid mistake.

If you're out there, douche nozzle, WAKE THE FUCK UP! Be glad you didn't follow me because I'd have called the cops on you instantly.

Funny thing though, he rode my ass the entire time until he decided to take the pic/video. At that point he backed off to a respectable distance. And then he rode up on me again when he was done. That guy is a total tool and one day he's gonna learn the hard way that he ain't as hard as he thinks he is.
