Just checked the wife's shield. Doesn't seem to be affected.

It's not a recall. It's a safety alert. If it was a recall, everyone would be sending their guns in.

Mine's good and it falls under the "recently manufactured" models as well, which seemed to be their biggest concern.

Mine is fine. Bought it the day the Shield was announced - April 12, 2012
