Finally completed the move from Highlands Ranch. I can say without a doubt Parker is a much friendlier environment. Stopped in and saw the guys at Rocky Mountain Guns and Ammo, saw the cleanest Wal-Mart I have seen in years and they had firearms to boot ...and had some decent barbeque at the Hickory House.

All and all I have no complaints. Not to mention when they finally get that indoor range finished I can just walk down the street, full of win.

As soon as I am able to I'm moving my family down to Parker. Seems like that's the place to go for a quality living experience in the Denver Metro area. Congrats on the move.

Lived in Parker since 2000. Has just what you need in a small town atmosphere.

Parker is just turning into another burb. New strip malls thrown up overnight. I remember when it was still a horse town and had a half-dozen restaurants.

The Hickory House does have some rockin' baby backs. Buffalo Boyd's used to be awesome before it was Californicated.

Every time I run back through Parker there's some new development. That new PD station is something else compared to their old location behind the Village Inn.

Congrats! I moved to Castle Rock in 2004 and haven't looked back since. I now can't stand Highlands Ranch. Everyone is always in such a rush and so pushy. Ugh. You'll enjoy the slower, friendlier pace of Parker.

1 stop sign town AND THE no traffic, leisurely, scenic way, to Co Spgs.

I remember when there was only 1 stop light between Parker and I25 on Lincoln.. *sigh*..

Too many fricking people.. I'm leaving. ;)

It's just another burb.. good luck getting home in a SHTF.. not all that many ways home.. and they're always packed.

At least you got out of the ranch though.

Parker isn't such a bad area if you don't mind driving an extra 30 mins to work each way; or Unless you don't mind getting raped by e470 and pay an extra $120 a month

There are a million ways to get places down here. Sometimes you just have to think outside the road. Tons of greenbelts and open space. IIRC, we had a bear within a mile wondering down the actual cherry creek.

Congrats on your move-
Enjoy the traffic jams on Parker Rd....hope you dont have to be anywhere quick
IMO- traffic in Parker (Parker Rd/Lincoln) is some of the WORST anywhere
I travel there, and HR everyday....

Welcome over here. I just north of Parker. I love it over here since moving from Littleton. You need to check out Franktown Firearms. Friendly folks, guns, and ammo, yes you read that right, ammo. And the ammo is at decent prices.

It really hasn't changed my commute times, granted I get to work before most folks are awake and leave before it gets too crazy. Even if I did get jammed up in traffic, nothing is as bad as Atlanta or Philly for stupid amounts of traffic.

I'll have to give the Dancing Noodle a try. The wife and I did the Indochine over the weekend. The food was good quality, though a little bland (which was easily fixed when they brought out the spice tray).

That's is what I was thinking. But at least him and the wife are getting closer.

So Kraven do you belong to Ben Lomand?

If you want to go out some time let me know I'm doing nothing most of the time.

I landed in Parker because that's where my workplace was at the time. I now work from home or run up to DIA once every few weeks. There's no way I would live somewhere that was more than 20 minutes from an employer. You people that drive 45 minutes or longer to work are nuts. Buy a house closer or find another jerb.

I remember Parker in the late '60's, a gas station and I'm pretty sure The War Horse was there, it has exploded, just like Castlerock. I still like them both, great places!

War Horse has been on a steady decline for a long time. I see the building is up for sale now.

Remember Sweaty Betty's? Yuppy biker bar now.

I grew up in Parker, back when the warhorse burned for the insurance money, and Hills market was the only grocery store. Its a nice town, a little congested with all the growth. I still like to go back and visit my parents.

I like Parker. It's got a small-town atmosphere, but it still seems to bustle.

He needs to burn it down again. They must not have replaced the floor the first time.

I've got Parker PD on my apply to list later on in the Academy... along with Golden. But I keep hearing nice things about the City (Town?) of Parker. Glad you like it there! [Beer]

Welcome to Parker, I've been here ten years now. Buffalo Boyds was cool when it was a biker bar... Stop in at the Tailgate on Main St. Still old bikers...

Dude, I used to drive 1 hour and 20 minutes to work in Ohio to be able to live in a village of 1000 people and have 2.5 acres in the village limits...
