With the current administration, it won't surprise me if this moves forward, with or without congress doing any thing.

While I don't support this change, let's be clear. It will be GOOD for people who live in a place where the CLEO won't sign off, as it will do away with the requirement that they sign off.

All that "proposal" does is require you to notify the CLEO you have a NFA item. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm sure it has been touched upon here, if not there are a few suppressor forums (silencertalk) that go in to what little depth there is about it.
