I'm no expert in this area, but I did see a posting with some pretty neat patterns the other day. Lupus transitional and Vipera arid patterns from ODG here - http://soldiersystems.net/2012/03/29/odg-lupus-pattern/

Myself in the woods
low cost , dickies brown and carhart green seem to work just fine (believe it or not, it works ), or you can dress up like g.i. joe and get the latest and greatest thing multicam

if your planning a trip to pueblo, primer gray and chrome works pretty well. :)
..........coyote brown, and multi cam do pretty well it seems
canon city area, best stuff I've come up with is actually atacs for desert.
Fancy camo isn't to fool the animals. It's to impress other hunters. Doesn't matter what you wear if you can't stay still. Indians were sticking arrows in deer nekked long before camo came around
Looks like a lope doing a back-flip and a floating head.
Nice

1st off unless you have one of these with the matching hand guard; just STOP! Whatever it is your trying to hide from; they will see that big ugly BLACK rifle sticking out like a sore thumb!! [ROFL1]

Lupus camo huh... Let me guess it comes in four pattern colors: systemic, discoid, drug-induced, and neonatal.
Sorry, but it's a stupid name for camo.

Last year, I was elk hunting in the mountain range WSW of Saguache. Can't remember the Unit number off the top of my head. There was snow on the ground but bare patches. Was sitting with my back to a tree in camp napping (hence no orange on) when another of my hunting party - looking for me - literally stumbled on me. Tripped on my boot as he passed me.
I was wearing cheap BDU's in desert camo.
I really think high end camo patterns are BS.

Believe it or not ACU works pretty well in the scrub oak. The old woodland BDUs are pretty decent in the woods and three color desert works in arid environments. All three paterns are available in large quantities for a pretty low cost.
I've got a ton of stuff in multicam, ACU, MARPAT (desert), green and tan. At the end of the day your terrain is going to dictate what works best to hide from people. Sometimes you can pick a pattern that is going to be great. Sometimes you have to hedge a little.
If you're hiding from animals, just learn how to move carefully and sit still.

What is kryptek?
www.kryptek.com (http://www.kryptek.com). Founded by a couple of ex-military guys, and the Highlander pattern is in the running for the new Army camouflage. These high end hunting clothes are not just about the camo - they also push the fit and function of lightweight breathable stretch fabrics for long days in the mountains, and the use of layers to handle environmental conditions. In addition to online sales Sportsman's Warehouse and Cabelas are carrying some of the line, if you're one of the guys who likes to try stuff on first.
