Along time ago, and far far away.... OK it was only 40 miles or so but anyway, once upon a time back about 2000 or 2001 I bought a Yugo SKS that had the full blade bayonet and was fitted with the rifle grenade muzzle mounts and the flip up grenade sights.

I don't recall what model this was. It was an Arsenal rebuild with mis-matched numbered parts but was fitted with a new barrel. The wood is seriously used - I'm betting this rifle saw much use in training green draftees.

While it IS an SKS design, I know it was sold as a Yugo Model ?? Likwise I know they have not been imported for awhile so I'm wondering what its worth now. I have not shot it, and I have a second that is still in the arsenal cosmoline. I remember what it took to clean off this first one, so that one will stay "embalmed".

M59/66 The ones I bought from Aim were all # matching and even the ones sold as "good" looked to be un-issued. The boys wound up with some of mine after I sold most of my X39 stuff.

$300 if that, it's still a SKS. The yugos were and still not one of the "more sought" after units like a Norinco, SKS-M paratrooper. Or the short lived offering ,Albanian ones.

Now that you mention it jim when they imported stuff from the Balkans there was a bunch of Albanian arms that were in the mix and mistaken for either Yugo or Chinese.
Due to the Albanians uncommonness they fetch a pretty penny amongst collectors.
I know- just had a Rachel Ray moment.....[facepalm]

The holy grail of sks collectors are the East German produced models, they only made a short run and all had chromed bayonets, I'm not sure but I believe only a few hundred at most were imported here I've seen them listed for as high as 1500$ on collector sites

Don't forget the Polish ones. I think only a handful were ever produced-pattern room guns, all the others were Russian refitted with Polish wood(I said wood...[LOL])

These came from Federal Arms, and the wood looks like what you might find on a WWII Garand that was in constant use through the conflict. Actually it might be worse.
