Made the pilgrimage today.

I was impressed. [cigar] There were more lefty bows then I have EVER seen in one place. REAL smokers. Camo out the wazoo (I'm not a huge camo fan but DAMN!). A pretty decent fly fishing section too. The spinner crowd definitely wins here. Employees who knew their azz from a hole in the ground. No powder to speak of but lots of reloading equipment. [Eek3] I didn't even go into the "high dollar" room.

As big as Ass Pro is, there is no comparison. Dicks...the name says it all. Cabelas wins.

If you are a "gangbanger wanna be", looking like a "wanna be", don't get all butt hurt when you get funny looks. You deserve them!

Beats Ikea all to Hell.

The real question is, did they have any big brown beavers mounted on the walls?

I didn't see any, big brown beavers on the wall, Wynona. It was a taxidermy heaven though.

Ikea doesn't suck, it blows.

Bummer. I sure do love big brown beavers. Glad to hear they still have lots of stuff in stock.

EDIT: Oh man, I was going with the wrong Primus song. You clearly meant the South Park theme. Carry on.

[ROFL3][LOL]Asshole, I just blew beer threw my nose.

I loves me some BBB too but there was some kitties in the trees. There were some bears, for the other side, too.

I can't hardly stand Cabelas...lack of service and lack of knowledge of the outdoors, and outdoors accessories and lack of knowledge of where I would find those accessories w/in their store...AND, I don't like the fact that the rule of Supply and Demand was so heavily enforced when ammo and mags got scarce. But, I'm glad to see that you enjoy the place. They do have some good sales. And, if you get a Cabelas C-card and always pay it off, the points come in real handy.

I went to the one in Lone Tree a week ago it it was actually very pleasant. People willing to help, and friendly. Of course...no powder to be had which sucked. Definitely quite a few nice firearms on the shelf. One thing I like is that it's a lot closer to me than Sportsman's.

They did have some black powder guns that you can put together yourself.

Echoed my setiments exactlly. I am a fan of their prime rib sandwiches and that is about it. Everytime I have compared prices on anything from fishing, to hunting stuff, ammo...you name it they are 10% higher in cost than the competition.

They are a bit proud of their inventory

I went to the one in Thronton yesterday. It was a ZOO. Saturday afternoon, and the store had it's grand opening less than a month ago.

Give it a few months and the novelty of them will ware off.

Stopped in yesterday and PMC 223 was 8.99 for 20 rounds. Big stack. Picked up a few.

Got home a little bit ago from first trip. Can't say I was that impressed. Yeah there was a lot of stuff, but it was also a lot of stuff that can be had elsewhere, and in most cases for better prices. I did like the selection of seasonings and rubs and they had a good selection of cast iron.

Gun selection was ok, but again I didn't see anything I couldn't live without, and I have no tolerance for the crowds and sales people. Personally between REI and the army surplus store on broadway I don't really see a need to drive out there from the west side.

The highlight was actually the bag of kettle corn we got on way out. I'm not normally a fan of kettle corn but there was something about this stuff that rocked. We darn near finished the bag on the way home.

I am working in the Springs right now, and pass the one on Ridgegate twice a week. I wear a lot of their casual clothing. I think of them as a Sears or a JC Penney for men. I've never been impressed with their pricing on firearm related stuff, but they did have a decent amount of .22 on the shelves last week. Probably because you could only purchase one box at a time, but such is life.

I'm not impressed at all it's just another store. It's smaller then bass pro. I get really tired of trying to get around the idiots with 6 kids pushing empty carts. They're prices are rediculous on most things. Everybody in there reminds me of really slow zombies. A guy put his ass in my face while I was trying on a pair of boots. Not impressed at all oh and aparently the Thornton police think its they're new police station
