Im under the 80 day mark on coming home. Wife and I agreed to do a firearms class when I got home. I don't need one for my CCW as Im well within 3 years of getting out of the .Mil. So my question, would an instructor be willing to let me sit in on a class with my wife so she can have the requirements for CCW even though I don't need them, or would I still have to pay for the class?

Since you already have a CCW AND prior /mil they should let you sit in gratis.

You should take a class yourself. The military teaches you nothing about CCW or C.R.S.
Would depend on the instructor and you. You are still learning important things just sitting in the class so paying wouldn't be out of line. Find a good class for your wife and ask the instructor.

This is something you'd need to discuss with the instructor.
When I asked my CCW instructor about my Fiancee taking his class, he informed me that she can take it alone (private instruction), alone with me there (private instruction), in the full class, or in the full class with me there. He said that since a majority of women are uncomfortable in that type of situation (especially if they are new to firearms), sometimes they feel more comfortable with their significant other there with them. He said when this happens, he never charges the significant other for the class, even though they are technically taking the class. I doubt, however, that if that person were to want a certificate of completion, that they would still get the class free. I already have mine, and took it from him about 3 years ago, and did the refresher 1 year ago, so he has already gotten plenty of money from me. And, I have to renew mine next year again, so he'll get more money from me then too.
Good luck!

Your certificate is good for 10 years so you can renew it once before you need to take another class, just an FYI.
OP, I replied to your question in my forum down below so I hope that helped

good advice!
Why not talk to Rob? You pretty much see him every day when you're stateside.
Buff is in New Mexico.
Doh!..my bad, I didnt see that. Disregard
I also agree very strongly with the above about taking the class for the information. The mikitary teaches you a ton of stuff, none of which is about Colorado laws and CCW

Yea, unfortunately down here, they're only good for 4 years. You also have to take a 2 year "refresher" which is basically a re-qualification and are given a certificate stating you completed it. If you renew after 4 years are up without the 2yr refresher certificate, they deny your application and you have to start from the beginning (taking the entire $100-$150 class again plus paying the $100 application fee). If you have the refresher, when you renew, it only costs $75 instead of $100 for the initial application.
