I held contempt for this man even before I found out about his past.

I've said this several times lately but based on watching this guy in action, I have to wonder if McCain survived the VC POW camp because he became their bitch and snitch, not because he's some sort of hero.

Yeah, I'm sure this will be considered some sort of sacrilege or heresy or slight to all veterans, but rarely do men of strong character lose their way ... however there's plenty of people of low character that are able to convince people they are good men (but eventually the truth seems to arise).

[hahhah-no] Until you've been there, let's keep the hypothetical out of it. From drunks , to drug addicts, to the person you've looked up to. It's easier than you realize to lose your way.

John McCain is far from the only, or even the worst, politician/veteran to "lose his way". The list is long and there are some pretty distinguished names on it. I can't stand McCain but I won't second guess what he did/didn't do as a POW.
