How good is it? I just got a v3, and went to change the pistol grip out... It took ALL my strength to get the screw to come loose. Even after I got it started it litteraly took everything i had to get it unscrewed. Went to put the new grip on with a new screw and had an even harder time trying to get it to screw in, so I took the new grip off, and put the old one back on, and couldn't even get the screw in more than half way, and now the flat head screw is pretty much stripped. Obviously it was cross threaded or something when try assembled it. Do you think they will replace the lower even though I "worked" on it? It's obviously nothing I did. I already filled out the warranty form and am just waiting on the shipping label.

chase the threads to remove any loc tite they may have used. shit can the flat head screw and buy a socket head / cap screw. it's a simple fix that takes less time than it did to fill out the card.

While I agree any DDM4 should be perfect from the factory, I'm with Jim. Can you see the threads clearly without a grip on? They shouldn't be that screwed up.
You'll be better off doing it your self. Get a quality screw and use a little loc-tite blue.
I don't know how the hell im going to get the screw out...

Cut the plastic grip off. It wont survive, but you will be able to put some vice grips on the screw and back it out after you hit it with some heat and penetrating oil.

STOP GETTING ANTSY. Leave it alone and we'll look at it tomorrow, OR fuck it up some more.

I havnt messed with it at all. I'm not getting antsy at all, I just was thinking about how it would come out.
And I didn't fuck it up in the first place, Jim. I'll let you take a look at it this afternoon.

I know. However while they have good CSR, last thing you want is for them to say SO,L you should have called once there was an issue.

That grip screw was hammered from the factory. You'd "THINK" a screw that bent would have been a no brainer.
Thanks for the help Jim, it was greatly appreciated!
I still think highly of DD, even though this particular lower should have never left the factory the way it was...

Mine was the opposite. Went to put a new grip on a few weeks after purchase and screw was basicly finger tight. Replaced grip tightened it and all was well.
