I saw the Springfield Armory recall here. My gun falls in the S/N range. How can I send the gun to SA and they return it to me and still be in compliance with the new CO "gun safety" laws? I've chambered rounds in it before with no problem. I'll probably just wait until I move back to MO where there is still some sanity. Thanks a bunch for watching out for my gun safety, government of CO!

Still legal to ship guns for repair.

I don't think the law applies to sending and returning in a firearm for repair. I sent mine in already. Didn't want to chance a accidental discharge when cambering a round.

I must have my stupid sign on today because I can't find an address to send it to. It says there is a Fed Ex label to print but I can't find that.

You should have received an email with them with a link to the Fedex site to print a label. Print two, one for the box and one inside along with including your RMA#, just in case.

Just to state the obvious, have you called Springfield to request the shipping labels and inform them that you are sending in your firearm?

The process works that you need to call them, they'll issue an RMA (or equivalent), then they'll either give you a box, or directions on how to pack it and the shipping labels to use. If you blindly send it in without contacting them first, there is a chance you might not get it back as it probably won't be in their logs.

I tried to call them, there is no getting through to the switchboard. In the meantime an email from FedEx came with a link to the label. Of course my printer is out of ink!

Sounds like User error.

Finally got it to FedEx. When I told the clerk it was a recall to SA he said, "We've had a lot of those." It didn't give me a warm fuzzy.
