Anybody carry one? Not much on them here. I hate 1911's but for the price of this used one I picked up yesterday that's like new under 50rds I had to try it. Hopefully I will get out to shoot it this week. I prefer Glock 30's so we will see.

I've come very close to buying one of these on a couple of occasions.
Let me know what you think about it.

Me too I am a huge fan of the 30 though and have carried one pretty much every day for the last 3 years
Very interested in hearing a comparison

OK here it is. Being a rainy crappy day I thought this is perfect to go see if a 1911 will run. So again I am a Glock guy, I have owned a few 1911's most of which took some more work and money to make them feed anything. So going into this I like the looks and grips of the scorpion but not the 1911 part and I didn't expect it to run. I read some reviews and guys said they couldn't feed HP's in their scorpion carry model. So in the rain and mud I threw everything at it even a couple rounds that somebody left in the mud. I ran 6 different types of HP's from federal to Remington to winchester and they all fed and worked flawless. I put a box of Aguilar winchester and Hsm reloads through it. I despise win white box but I had a box I wanted to get rid of. I shot from 20-50yds and accuracy was as good as each round would produce. I don't shoot this as good as a Glock but I was hitting 6" steel circles anywhere I put them. I have WC, CM, and factory SIG mags and they all worked flawless. I had one "first round" nose dive with the SIG mag but after sling shotting the slide it chambered. The ONLY malfunction was an HSM reload that was over sized and will not fit in the chamber, other then that I ran about 175 RDS through it in the rain with no malfunctions. Most shots were slow and aimed, but I ran 3 mags of double tap 20yd targets and single tap 40yd targets dumping mags and it was nice, the mag well (the grips make) did make it easy to load mags quickly without looking. Overall if it came with better mags I would give it 5 stars.
Summary:
The gun is flawless, the SIG mags suck to load, trash can the mags and buy WC.
If someone offered me a Glock 30s or 30sf and cash I would trade, other wise I would take this gun to Fallujah, and there are not a lot of guns I would take back there!

I have the extreme, which is just the black version of the scorpian. Its the first and only 1911 I have ever fired. I love the thing to death, but I couldnt hit the broadside of a barn at 10 feet. Either I am unable to fire a 1911 accurately or there is something else going on. But I do agree they it is damn reliable. Ive dropped mine in sand, dirt, mud, and it has never slowed down. Its also the only firearm I clean after every use though.

I spent a lot of time getting to where I could shoot my Glock out to 100yds, my scorpion should do it also if I got used to it, and yours should to. Has anyone else shot yours to see? Not saying you are bad but not all of us are natural handgun shooters and like I said it took me a lot of live fire/dry fire practice to get good. I still struggle when shooting fast at competitions.

I havent had anyone other than my wife fire it. I can hit a 18x18 plate out at 100 yards with my Glock 17, Sig p226, and even my glock 26. I am in no way even a good shot with handguns, but I can get a group with all my handguns under 6" at 15 yards, which i know is horrible, but I should still be able to at least get something close with the 1911 right?
so you still prefer the 30?

They are both fine weapons. Personally I would take a 30S over the SIG. But I will carry the SIG.
