I like "pacos" better. Rhymes with "tacos" which sounds pretty good right about now...

The neighbor in the unit next door to my shop works on Corvairs for a living, and has since they were new(opened his own shop in 62). The Greenbriar is a customer's, the Monza is his, and has over a half million miles on it.

I only know of or knew 3 guys who owned the vans, back east. 2 of them owned the ones that have side access doors on both sides, every kind of corvair made was in front of their house, and all ran. They fetch a very impressive price when up for sale.

Steve probably knows them. He's quite possibly the world's most respected authority on Corvairs. People send him carbs, heads, and turbos from all over the world to work on.

Pecos is correctly pronounced "peekus".

I have seen so much storm water at 72cnd and Pecos that the manhole covers blew about 15' vertically. They sat there and bobbled back and forth spewing water then a surge hit them. Quite disconcerting when you are standing about 10' away.
The worst flooding I have ever seen were 38th and Fox, I-25 Downing and Alameda and 6th and Perry. They always flooded way back, to the tune of 12-14' deep.

I was just a few blocks from there when you snapped that pic. The entrance to a shipping warehouse we use was flooded just off of Broadway.
