JcWhitney is legit, don't hesitate.
Also if anyone has a coupon code for 20% off I would appreciate it
I've been using Auto Parts Warehouse for ordering parts online. www.autopartswarehouse.com It's kind of like Amazon for auto parts.
Great selection of parts, shipping is typically free and good-great pricing. Once you order and sign up for their email list you'll get a email about once a week with savings up to 30%. If you could hold off on the cats I'd order something that is relatively cheap and use the discount for the cats.
Thanks Buff, I just checked them out but they want $40 more for the same part. I'll keep them in mind when I search for things though

Wow, that's discouraging to hear. Thx for the heads up I need to replace the cat and muffler on my 97 f-350.

Back in high school and shortly thereafter I knew a few guys who basically built their cars out of the book. I kept a couple of Bultacos running from their book. Good stuff then but can't make a call on them now.

Yep. Ordered headers and a quick steer kit for my Corvair from them.......[Flower]
I like em too. Have always got name brand parts even though it was just a black and white drawing. My last order was for jeep parts. Everything was in stock, said it was on its way, then a week later got an email that said part was not in stock. Ended up slowing down my project, had to get them elsewhere. Still enjoy the catalog, they're just not as online friendly as some.

RockAuto is very good. Use them quite a bit. Never an issue with JCWhitney though.
IF you have to get emissions tested, you HAVE to have OEM cats or they will fail you (ask me how I know). Don't know if that applies or not to your address, but you should know before you order emissions parts. Also, realize that emissions part warranties are longer than the rest of the vehicle, so it might be possible to get them replaced under warranty, again, you should check.
JcWhitney is okay, just read the individual product reviews closely. I doubt that you would have a problem buying a cat from them, but my buddy bought a top for his jeep that was an absolute piece of crap. It was ruined after one year. Looking at the reviews it was cheap Chinese crap and happened to everyone that bought it. Other stuff I have bought from them was great.
Got the cats in from them and installed. Definitely helped and got rid of the CEL. Also cleaned up the 02 sensors.
I was definitely happy with the service and shipping and product

My grade school math says that's a 10% discount at best.

^^^^ this is not true^^^^
sorry if you got someone at air care that does not know what they are talking about, but the only requirement for your cat is that it be a EPA registered part. There are some of the "high flow" cats that are not EPA certified and do not have a registration number on them. Those are not allowed. I had some on my 5.2 durango at one time and failed the visual. I had a magnaflow cat installed and passed with no issue. The magnaflow was clearly not OEM, but had the cert number and is an approved part.
Spent $1,000+ since the late 70's............ZERO issues

Did you get caught in their bankruptcy? I lost an order worth about $150 because they when through a bankruptcy. That was probably before you in the mid or early '70s. I had such good service from them otherwise that I placed a small order with them a year or so later. That one went through and I continued to buy parts from them as late as the early '90s. Another time I had a set of VW cylinders assemblies delivered damaged. I called them and they said to teke them the to the post office. About a month latter I got a new set delivered. I read an article at the time that over 90% of the outstanding dept was for the cost of printing catalogs.
Ordering stuff mail order back then sure was different that the internet ordering and brown truck deliveries now. Let's see, I dropped the order in the mail today, That's about 5 to 7 days before the Post office delivers the order. Add another 5 to 7 days for them to process it and 2 to 3 weeks for the post office to get it here. That's about 3 weeks to a month to anxiously wait for you goodies. Now it's internet order it Sunday night and it will probably be before Friday.
