DENVER - The Pepsi Center announced on Tuesday the installation of Walk-through metal detectors at all venue entrances.
The metal detectors will be installed before the first Colorado Avalanche pre-season game on Sept. 18.
The Pepsi Center will be the first professional venue in Colorado to install the metal detectors as a permanent security installation.
Everyone attending an event at the venue must pass through the metal detectors.
The center says goal of the new process is to further improve safety and speed up the security checks.
The installation of metal detectors are becoming more common at stadiums and other venues across the country.
please remove your shoes, no liquids. wait for agent before passing through scanner.
Are they actual metal detectors or surplus TSA scanners?

I saw a bunch of them being unboxed a couple of weeks ago when I was doing some work there. There was some big show coming up that weekend, so I just assumed that they were temporary for the show or something. I guess not.

Between Sport's authority field and their BS bag policy, and now Pepsi center doing this, the only place I'll be able to entertain my family and I, is in the great outdoors... Oh wait, that is the only place we entertain ourselves.

Sound like a place where terrorists could sneak chemical weapons in disguised as fire extinguishers. I'll go along with hurley, I prefer to be armed and enjoy the great outdoors!

Well, I'm not going to a Nuggets game unarmed. If you've ever seen the kind of people that frequent those games, you'll understand. Not that I go anywhere unarmed, but I'll be damned if I'm going to start there.

You're telling me. I cannot figure out how those guys run up and down the court with a gun in those elastic shorts.

Pepsi center is a crappy venue, I wouldn't go there even if they encouraged concealed carry.
Sent from my electronic ball and chain.
obviously a "feel good" measure. Unless they are having all 20,000 people take off their belts, shoes and empty their pockets there will be WAY TOO MANY "false positives"
They will have to tone them down big time. Wonder how flocks would fare? Or other polymers

I damn sure don't want to be trying to justify a shoot against the Denver district attorney's office once they find out I knowingly brought a weapon into a facility that bans them. They say it's better to be judged by 12, but I'd rather just watch the game at home. Not worth it.

Yep, that works for me.
Can they legally ban concealed carry there?

Professional Athletics: Distractions put on by crony capitalists who use eminent domain to steal homes and businesses from the people to build stadiums with tax dollars all to make Democrat politicians that run the blue cities they exist in look good.
College Athletics: Entertainment put on by Godless Marxist indoctrination centers to raise money for more Godless Marxist indoctrination.
We really need to stop supporting these people and their crap.
Can they legally ban concealed carry there?
You can legally ban CCW anywhere simply by putting up metal detectors.
130" screen w/HD projection, cheap food & beer and a pause button. Why would I care about this?

They don't have the sports teams to pay for your organic chemistry and mechanical engineering classes ... those would support themselves.
