We should strike while the iron is hot.

Given the real opportunity of flopping control in the Senate and general make-up of her district, I think the focus should be on Hudak.

Too bad Rhonda Rap Sheet Fields is in the protected hood!

It would be awesome to see her go bye - bye!

+1 on Hudak

If legislation eventually flips, boot her with legislation that convicted criminals can no longer serve. [gohome]

We have sent a strong message.
The message has been received.

We push too hard and we may win the battle but can still lose the war.
Look at the big picture.
Our efforts will be best spent cultivating solid candidates for 2014.

+1 It would be great to boot Hudak or Fields, but it would not necessarily be viewed favorably. At this point, the focus should be on 2014.

Good point, I just would have preferred to see Hudak go rather than Giron (if we could only have one of them). I don't think Giron should have stayed but I feel Hudak is more toxic for CO.

I understand the push for 2014, but as a senator, Hudak is not up for reelection. A recall is the only way to target her vulneralbilty in the near future.

Due to the AP and the leftist press controlling the arguments on the issues of why the background check and mag ban laws are opposed, the public has not heard the real reasons why the laws damage our freedoms. The fact that Morse got as many vostes as he did is evidence the case still needs to be made. It takes gun owners speaking out through letters to the editors and through personal contacts. We need to look at the big picture and he is sitting in the governers office. The 2014 elections are next year. Our first task is to keep the conservative splinter groups (ala tancredo) from stabbing us in the back again so we can run a solid candidate against the Bloomberg loving hickenlooper.

Agree with Bert. Also agree that getting rid of more is going to be based on 2014 elections. Fields was voted in by people who have no issue with her, one way or the other, so it would be a waste of time to go after her in a recall.

Hudak has got to go, and I really think she will be gone next election.

Unfortunately, her term is until 2016, hence the interest in the recall.

To quote the late, great, Chris Farley, "THAT... WAS... AWESOME!"

Thank you to ALL the gunnies out there who got involved in the two successful recall efforts. Wow!

For those advocating for additional recall efforts now, please consider that there are odd year elections coming up. Mostly, those are for the 178 locally-elected school boards in Colorado. We'll also have the billion-dollar-per-year-forever tax increase for public K-12 (Please vote "No"). Election Day will be November 5 and then we're into the holiday season. It would be difficult to gain attention for a recall during the remainder of this year. It wouldn't be impossible, but you would be competing against those things that must and will happen during the next ~4 months. And then, starting in January and running through June, we'll be into the 2014 caucus, assembly, and Primary election season.

Also, for those interested specifically in Hudak, please keep in mind that she is term limited. As noted earlier, her current term expires in 2016. She cannot run for the Senate again without taking off at least one, four-year term. I don't know what her plans are, but I would suggest that she would be far more likely to take a much better paying job in one of the 178 school districts, the Colorado Department of Education, or one of the countless pro-public K-12 education associations/foundations out there.

Winning a pro-Second Amendment majority in the State Senate during the 2014 election cycle would be the most productive way to protect your shared interest.

Anyway, just wanted to stop by and offer my thanks to anyone and everyone who got involved in the two successful recalls. THANK YOU!

It is an honor and privilege to serve.

Respectfully yours,

- Chris

Could not agree more. We need to have a strong, unified front in 2014. Do not overreach. These asshats are going to be hiding in their foxholes for the time being.

Not that my input matters much, at least after having Chris contribute here, but I agree that additional recalls would be very expensive, politically risky in the extreme, and likely to be perceived as bullying by the public at large.

Furthermore, I agree that it's incredibly important for the state Republican party to start setting up their candidates for 2014, building coalitions with some of the more libertarian-minded voters out there, and generally trying to take back the state.

Additionally, I think it would be incredibly fruitful to propose that the magazine ban, UBC, and same day voter registration bills be repealed. After the recalls, I have a hard time believing that we wouldn't pick up at least a couple of votes to swing a repeal of the magazine ban at the very least.

As much as I'd love to see it, it's doubtful we could get another recall going... but one person I'd LOVE to see without a job after the 2014 elections is Jeanne Nicholson... I cannot stand that woman!

It seems that all the cautious advice against more recalls is exactly the same as we got prior to the Morse and Giron recalls - term limits, bullying, 2014 elections, etc...

I don't understand why it is wise to rely solely on the R party to select pro-2A candidates. Besides, the Rs haven't exactly been winning elections lately and I don't want to rely on losers. These regular people in Co Springs and Pueblo made a big difference not only in Colorado, but on the national stage. And, they did it without much help from "The Party".

If we wait for the political class to act for us, we'll be waiting a long, long time.
