View Full Version : So what were Giron and Morse promised?

Ever since they failed to step down after the petitions were validated, I've held two beliefs:

1) The dems thought they would not lose a recall election.
2) As an incentive to not step down, Giron and Morse were promised some pretty sweet golden parachutes by the party.

Since the dems got #1 wrong, time to see what materializes for #2.

I have no doubt both will land on their feet -- the dems have to make good on their promises or they won't be able to keep other party members in line (as well having lots of other people's money to spend -- something that they're very good at).

I'm sure we'll have to let a month or two roll by before the promised jobs materialize for the two of them to make it appear as if the jobs are not connected to their defeat.

I just have a morbid interest in just what they were promised! Only time will tell.

I don't know what the dems promised those two. I do know what the recall organizers promised them - unemployment. They've just followed through with that! Woo-Hoo!

Looks like Morse may have a new 6 figure gig lined up. This is from Justin Smith's Facebook.

Warning Colorado! While the voters exercised their will and removed John Morse from office tonight, do not expect that he will be off their payroll anytime soon. Take a look at this doddling piece in the University of Colorado, Denver alumni publication and take a few minutes to read the fan mail editorial by the dean, Paul Teske. There's no doubt in my mind, that his intent is to reward his pal John Morse with a six digit salary at your/ his public university. If you have thoughts on this, you should email Mr. Teske at Paul.Teske@cudenver.edu

Let me more clearly state what I'm wondering about; stating the same things two ways:

1) How much does it take to buy a Colorado Senator?
2) How much of a payoff are these going to get from the democratic party for hanging in there?

That's all, I know they're now unemployed -- for the moment. They would not hung in there unless the party told them to (in order not to look weak and/or admit the wrong that they did) and promised them something in the unlikely event that the recalls succeeded.

There's a typo in your email address for Paul Teske.
should be: Paul.Teske@ucdenver.edu

Pathetic piece he wrote - had to let him know the difference between "courage" and "arrogance."

1) Probably depends on the Senator
2) Probably nothing. This is the democratic party. They'll eat their own and move on without mercy.

I seriously doubt either one of them would have stepped down in the face of a recall. The days of the Budd Dwyer politians are sadly over.

They were probably promised co-chairmanship of the Bloomberg 2016 Presidential Election Committee. Mikey already spent $350K on them, let him pay their salaries again for the next few years.
