Bonus points if they use the voice, super bonus if they make a computer-generated image of her speaking at the same time! (Heck, Valve did it with Half-Life 2, granted it was pre-processed to create the face movements, but still, they could do it!)

Cortana has been one of my favorite characters from Halo. I sure hope they don't make it cheesy.

If she looks like the version of Cortana in Halo 4, I'm in. What a disappointing series that has become. Halo 4 was supposed to be so much better so I bought it and sold it a week later when Black Ops 2 came out. But I digress. Cortana in Halo 4 looks JUST like my girlfriend in high school... now my wife. It was eerie as I played through the campaign actually.

You can do it with most any properly rigged model in the Source engine.

It's not real-time creation of the movements though. You put in the sound file, it processes it and figures out what it thinks are the mouth movements. You can then adjust it yourself if things seem off.

It's not that hard, though. You set the shape of the face for different syllables, and then just program a smooth transition between them. The face only makes so many shapes when speaking words.
