Some of you might have firsthand experience of these prices[Coffee]

Nothing quite like 1000% inflation

What's the date on that? And the value of the dollar then vs. now?

Ad is from 1965.

Yes, the dollar is toilet paper now compared to its 1965 value.

I was 9 y.o. then, wish my dad had picked up a few things like that. But all he wanted was a shotgun for birds and an elk rifle, he wasn't into fun shooting. Depression-era waste not/want not mentality I guess.

Sheesh. I pad double that for my HK91in 1993.

Of course I sold it for more than double what I paid for it sometime in 1995.

I remember those adverts, I was 10 that year and even into my late teens they could be had inexpensively.

Where are they now? Where did they all go?

I inherited a Sear Roebuck and Co. Cataloger No. 112 from my Dad. That dates out to 1902 or '03. I've always wanted to get a gun that is advertised in that catalog. I need to quit procrastinating and put in on my priority list.

The inflation calculator I usually use says that a 1965 dollar is worth $7.36 today. That means the Walther is now worth about $295.

Thanks for posting that advertisement. I enjoy seeing the past.

Yep, I talked my dad into buying one of those when I was a youngster. I worked my arse off on several different farms to help pay him back for it. One of 2 guns I ever regret selling. Of course I got quite a pretty penny for it, but still miss the hell out of that sweet shooter.

I remember lusting all over one of those back then in the LGS back in my hometown. 'Bout the same year too.

Buy 2 get free shipping. My FEG AK was $175 in 2000 and my SAR3 was $219 in 2002. Bought my PSL used (10 rds fired) in 2005 for $300. I will leave the Fal build stories alone. My unissued bulgy maks were $150 each (2003) with a bunch of goodies and my CZ52 was $85[Flower] Ya get the idea.
