Those pictures are incredible. The power of nature....
I stole all of these pictures and placed them in a thread on another board. I hope you don't mind.
For the past week I've been at our cabins in Peaceful Valley on the Middle St. Vrain, NW Boulder County. I watched as continuous heavy rain saturated the soils, flooded through the foundations of the basement of one house and crawlspace of another creating a creek flow from inside the houses out the door. My cousin's house which is safely above the river about 16', still had the lower basement level flooded from water flowing through the foundation, flooding his carpet, furniture and pool table. The high water from the river is much higher than I've ever seen, and I lived there through the floods of the '66, '67, and '69.
Here are a few reference pics of the river in front of the cabin, first the normal low water of spring and fall like it was ten days ago, the second of high flood stage water in spring runoff, and a pic from the same spot taken yesterday:

Our family cabins on the river are at 8500'. They are about the highest homes up the canyon so we're not normally subject to the severe flooding as those at lower elevations, like in Raymond, Riverside and Jamestown. Down canyon 3-4 miles in Raymond many bridges were flooded over, homes had water at the floor levels, and the fire station was flooded with one fire truck lost. Definitely an unprecedented event.
I got a lot of photos and video. Here's a shot of my cousins picnic table by the river, the normal river bank is to the left of the trees at left.

I drove home to Western CO last night because without electricity or phone service I couldn't do much of anything--dead in the water so to speak. Will head back Monday with a generator, more sump pumps and wet vacs to start the clean up.

I'm definitely in awe at the power of this storm.
Looks like round two is starting. Heavy rain and no sign of letting up soon.
I thought my water woes ended when I left the hurricanes in South Florida....this is getting old.

Anyone have pictures or video of that water flowing over that dam where guy was trying to open the gates? I saw about a 5 second clip on the news but they never covered it.

Anybody found any video of the flyover on Hwy 72?
I found some pictures, but I would assume there is video somewhere.
The pictures went from the bottom of Coal Creek Canyon to Pinecliffe.
