Disclaimer: Yes, I've searched this forum, the general internet (as Google sees it), and a few other forums. I've come up dry.
I've seen a lot of info on what was done recently, history of the use of EO, etc. but ...
Background: While researching these 2 new executive orders related to guns, I've learned that:
1) Only 2 executive orders have ever been overturned
2) EOs are supposed to be issued to help the executive branch manage operations by clarifying gray areas
3) EOs were not intended to be used to establish new laws or extend existing laws
4) EOs were not intended to further a law (or extend it to be something it is not)
5) The new EOs have most likely exceeded the intent and spirit of presidential discretionary power
6) Sometimes congress can effectively nullify an EO by not passing legislation to assist in funding an EO
7) Only congress can "make" new laws
QUESTION:
Has anyone heard/seen of any organization(s) or persons that are actively trying to challenge and repeal these orders ?
