The fundamental difference between Islam and virtually every other world religion is that in every religion EXCEPT Islam I can dig into their holy texts and find support for theological arguments against "conversion by the sword" and "murder of unbelievers".

So yes, all religions have at one time or another had bad people that twisted the tenants of the faith to serve evil purposes. Only in Islam is the evil hard wired to its core.

As for why the institutional left in the west seems to always look the other way at the sins of Islam? Its nothing more complicated than "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". Islam's enemies are Christianity, Capitalism, Western Civilization and Israel ... the same enemies as the left.

It helps that Islam is actually a political system masquerading as a religion ... a political system that has a LOT in common with Marxism.

I think you misunderstood. They are the religion of pieces, as in: hacking up anyone you disagree with into pieces.

Our (not just the US, but much of the world) tolerance of Islam and its followers is our undoing. They refuse to abide by the laws of society because the Qur'an tells them they don't have to. They only have to follow the Qur'an & Islamic (Shari'ah) law. Of course, they hide behind the protections of free speech & freedom of religion even though they will admit that we're fools for these things. They use our tolerance to grow stronger while quietly undermining the security, safety, cultures and customs of their host nations. They have no respect for anything not Islamic (even then, only their flavor of Islam). They pretend to tolerate us while subversively planning to destroy everything we hold most valuable.

If I saw a cockroach in my home I wouldn't "tolerate" it simply because I hadn't yet seen it in my cupboards, I would eradicate it before it had a chance to manifest into thousands of roaches spread into every nook & cranny of my home. We can continue to turn a blind eye and fein ignorance to their ultimate goals, but sooner or later we, or our children, will be forced to face the reality. At that point, it may be too late to do anything short of burning down the entire house.

Living and working with the people that follow Islam, I honestly can't make an educated opinion. On one hand, they've shot at me and blown me up. On the other hand, I have terps who are more hard working than a lot of Americans I know. So in the end I just tend to take it on a case by case basis. But I end up usually leaning towards distrust.

Just reading the news, the impression that I have today is most American personnel face greater danger from the people they work with rather than the people they are fighting against. Would you confirm that impression as accurate?

Mind you I work in and around the Embassy in Baghdad. But yes, that threat is very true in Afghanistan. But it was a lot to do with the tactics employed as well. Here in Iraq the sectarian violence is much easier that infiltrating western groups due to our more stringent screening process.

i have the pleasure of supporting a group of them as clients. They seem like nice guys, but i want to get away from them as fast as i can...I just don't trust them when they start talking in their native tongue in front of me and i stand there saying..."secrets don't make friends boys" and turn around and leave. They get the point real fast that I don't appreciate that bs. Any how, all of them are here on work visas....cheaper then hiring us citizens. I still don't trust em.
