No I am not stealing gas. [Coffee]

I dont have anything on hand to rig up a gas pump/syphon, I dont want to crawl under / in the car to remove a gas line, and dont have the funds to really spend on putting one together.

I have the wife's old new car I just put 3/4 tank of gas in on Friday. We in the spur of the moment Friday came across a deal for a cheaper new to us used car. We are turning in the old new car hopefully Monday. I dont really want to hand over the car with that much gas in it when I could use it for my Jeep.

If you got something already rigged up let me know! [Beer]

Harbor Freight (they used to have $7 syphon kits, probably still do).

You suck..............[facepalm]

I had something similar ages ago, an old electric fuel pump and some gas line. It disappeared after I moved.

Can you pull the line where it goes into the injectors and let the fuel pump do the work for you? It's like bump starting the car, but the fuel just shoots into your container.

It is newer Jeep commander and everything is tucked away and hidden under a bunch of crap, even the gas tank itself all the lines are on top of the tank. I have some line just need a spare electric pump.

SHit I can do that, maybe. [Coffee]

I got to go dig out my fuel line in my closet of a garage, if it is still there. Unless the wife donated it.................

The only issue with trying to use the fuel pump on the car-most vehicles have a low oil pressure cut out. No oil pressure-no fuel go squirt squirty.

Can't you just suck it out of the filler with a hose?

Dont have any hose laying around and it sounds crazy but dont want to spend any $$ on just hose at the moment.

Stan is hooking me up tomorrow with his little setup for a couple hours.

Always wanted to tell you Matt: Go suck it!
Now it seems strangely appropriate in some way[Coffee]

All in jest Matt

Most of the newer vehicles have a weir of sorts to stop a hose from going into the tank from the gas cap. If you can find a schematic some vehicles you can undo the line anywhere downsteam of the fuel pump and then jump the fuel pump relay to make it run. Usually its as simple as turning on the ignition and grounding out one of the connectors with a piece of wire. If you have a haynes manual its usually listed under the steps for trouble shooting the fuel pump.

How much time and money are you going to spend to get $30-$40 of gas out??

That was my point exactly, do it for what amounts to a little of my time and some friendly borrowing for a couple hours. [Beer]

That gas put in my Jeep will last me a week or more, saving me spending another $30.

Makes matters even worse we just put $900 worth of brand new tires on this vehicle in March '13, just cutting overall costs of living. The new to us used vehicle will cut our vehicle expenses by half so just going to write it off.

New PM sent. Hose with brass end won't go into my truck and that might be the same for yours.

I looked at my filler area in relation to the actual gas tank. Nothing looks too out of the ordinary, but the distance between where I would stick it in to where the tank is, is at least 4' +

I see there is a rubber line from the tank to the filler but the thought of being under the Jeep and playing with gas doesn't excite me in this time of my life. You can call it laziness if you want. :)

I will jsut drive all over Adams county tomorrow for work and waste the gas. Thanks for the insight and all the offers! [Beer]
