Not really sure where this falls, so I figured toss it out into general and see who bites.

I have a PVS-14, that has been abused to be sure. I have a few parts that need to be replaced, but really it needs a cleaning and purge.

I figured I would use the folks at Mod Armory for this, but any idea how long this takes? Is this something that is done in an hour or so, or is this a multi-day process?

There are a couple black dots, so I suspect they are dust flecks on the tube. I just really don't want to go tearing into the internals of my setup, but I know it is capable of much better presentation than I am getting out of it.

If it has the old battery compartment you can use the opportunity to change to AA compartments also.

As far as the process itself, it doesn't take long. It's basically just plugging a hose from a tank into the unit and letting it purge for a bit.

Company turnaround times on the other hand are something I have no idea about. It used to be a yearly thing when I was still in; the direct maintenance shop would come down to the arms room with their equipment and just purge a whole company's worth of nods in a day.

From my armorer's course in the Army we were told a purge and fill for PVS-7's takes a few hours to do with the inspecting included, but depot level work usually took a few weeks turnaround. It would depend on how busy and how long of a backlog they have.
