Anyone use this stuff that much? All of my handgun rounds have been limited to exp. with 296,H110, and Unique. Looking to work up loads for my .40 using it and 165 grain gold dots. Looking online and at manuals I see loads all over the chart for this stuff and wouldn't mind some real world opinions on it.
Nosler guide lists this exact bullet/power combo at max 7.8gr and 1.12 OAL. Would most likely start with 7.1 and move up from there.
Gun it will be loaded for is an FNX.

Works good, I use it for 9mm, plated or FMJ rounds. It's got a good flash, which is bad and it's hotter than other powders. (so it seems) I've not looked it up on the powder charts to see where it falls for speed.
Looked it up, it's slower than other powders, W231, Unique. FYI.
I'd go for it.
It is my primary pistol powder. I use it in in .40 S&W with 155 gr Montana Gold Bullets and .38 Spl, 125 gr MGBs. I don't recall the charge weights, but they are in the mid-range out of the Speer manual.

Thanks for the responses. How is it on the clean side? Thats the one big problem I have with UNIQUE.

cleaner than W231. :) I shoot mostly hard cast bullets, so my power pistol doesn't see much use. (need plated/jacketed for PP)

I've used it quite a bit in 357sig & 40. It's quite flashy & seems loud, but it's a good powder. Pretty clean too. Go for it..,

As clean as any factory loads I shoot.
I use it exclusively for .45 Super loads. I am very pleased with its performance, especially at maximum levels.

thanks for the input. For some reason (call me overly cautious when it comes to reloading) I get nervous switching powders since after you get familiar with the regular ones it puts you in a comfort zone that you know the loads you've shot a few thousand times are safe. Picked a lb of PP up this AM and got a box of 155 gr and 165 gr gold dots and going to put a few loads together tonight to see how I like it.

I use Power Pistol the most in my XD40 and XDm40 as well as my wife's S&W 9mm. Universal Clays will give very close to the same results. I primarily load the lighter bullets for paper shooting, less recoil. Very accurate, I put 5 in the x ring from about 25 feet with the XD last week (all my wife left me.)
