Anybody else watch/go to the game? Quite the ass-whooping, although to me it looked like the Ducks were skating better most of the time.
O'Reilly's unassisted looked effortless.
Good to see MacKinnon had a pretty sweet NHL start with the almost breakaway shot, two assists, and his first almost fight. Hopefully that cheap shot there at the end from Lovejoy wasn't anything serious.
Varlamov was awesome. The one that got passed him with 4 seconds left was lucky, since he got hit in the head right when it happened.
Patrick Roy pushing over the glass in between the two benches and yelling at the Duck's coach was pretty sweet, too.
Overall it was a great game. Hopefully they can keep it up. Thoughts?
That was fun to watch. Neat to see Roy get all fired up like that. Might be just what they need.
My neighbor played golf with a bunch of Avs the other day, one of them said that they though they had the best first 3 lines in the NHL.
I'm really looking forward to the season.
I watched the game and while this game was great, there are 81 more games to go. I'm going to reserve judgement until late December, then we'll know what kind of team the Avalanche have put on the ice.
I like the way everyone played, MacKinnnon was really good, and I really enjoyed seeing Patrick Roy behind the bench.
I'm looking forward to a good season and hopefully watching them in the playoffs.

I was there! What do you guys think of the new JUMBO TRON? I was seated right in front of it nearly eye level and couldn't decide to watch the screen or the ice. It really cuts off the view of the other side of the stadium. Oh let's not talk about the new security in place, we had VIP tickets and it took us over 30 minutes to get through security. They held the puck drop I'm sure because the amount of people still outside in line. Oh and let's look at the Pepsi staff doing the security. Grandma with her little flashlight looking through my wife's purse for a few seconds than hands it off outside of the metal detector. Seriously? My wife has a purse that could make an Barrett disappear. OK final though, what the hell is up with the Hooter's on ice? Let's get some cute girls that can hardly skate and give them shovels to clean off the ice every 8 minutes. At least the guys and gals they had in the past could do the job in less time and didn't have to resort to costumes and a over abundance of hair spray. Whew time to take my blood pressure medicine. Awesome game by the way.

Yeah, I felt like I was going through a TSA checkpoint when I went a couple days ago. The JumboTron is huge!!! I thought it was a little distracting as well.

Those are the ice girls.... Most of them are hot... And they're all either figure skaters or hockey players... Look 'em up...

Every team says they think they have the best x this. Don't want to piss off fans by saying otherwise.

I'm excited about the start of this season.
Some stuff I saw last night, reminded me of what our players were doing on the ice 10 years ago.... good stuff.
It was kinda painful to abandon them after I was so into it for so long. I hope the winning ways return again.

Hockey, is that the one with the yahoo's sliding around on the frozen pond trying to hit the girly man at each end of the pond with a frozen cowpie?

Pretty much. Its also the sport where the yahoo's hit each other for an hour, and then do it again the next night without whining like football players ...
And also the yahoo's snort less coke, and less meth, and show up in jail less frequently. [Coffee]

I don't think they shoot each other and beat up their wives as much either... lol
Interesting point.
It would be tremendously funny to watch them play with a cowpie, though.

Redneck lesson of the day, "It only works if they are frozen", both the pond and the cowpies. [Coffee]
[Beer] to a hopefully successful season. May your cowpies always be frozen and your canucks [Tooth][Tooth].

I missed most of Friday's game because Altitude Sports wasn't working with Comcast. I finally found a way to watch it online and caught the 3rd period. Looking forward to Tuesday's game against the Toronto Make Me Laughs.

Now that I've been to two games, I can say that tge vibe is FAST.
Opening nights are always skewed in terms of passion and drive. No one wants to lose opening night.
The predators game was nothing short of amazing.
The drive and passion of this team is incredible. Patrick Roy has given this team life. They never give up. Even in the last few seconds of a 3-1 they still played hard and didn't stop trying to score.
All four lines are playing like a #1 line. They're all going out and playing with passion and heart. They all know they can score. And score they do.
The new defense is SOLID. I don't care what the experts say. The defense has been stepping up big time.
Varly.... Holy shit. This kid is a stud now. All he needed was the right coach. Solid solid goaltender. His whole style has changed for the better.
Seth who? Jones was horrible for the predators the other night. Mac will be the calder winner. Hands down.
