I call that the "Microwave Syndrome".

You see, when I was a pre-teen, almost nobody had a microwave and if you wanted a baked potato you had to cook it in the oven for 2+ hours.

Then came microwaves. Everyone was thrilled that you could cook things so fast. A baked potato now only took about 8 minutes.

Within just a few short years, an 8 minute baked potato was not good enough. Inventions like convection ovens have cut the time down, but it's still not good enough.

We want more and we want it faster. Our satisfaction is fleeting.
