View Full Version : Bass Pro Shops Colorado Springs
Well, i tried to find if another topic of this exist but the search don't show me anything.
2 news
1- opening date is November 21 if all the construction continue as normal
2- they will works Guns Transfers (related to the new laws), don't know the fee yet but the will do. This is good because not to many FFL holders in the area works on weekends and/or night.
As soon as know more info I'll write it here
;-)
Good info, I was trying like hell to find out when they opened, I live about 2 miles away and am excited for it to happen. There is also going to be a huge motel with an enormous year round water park there along with other shops and fancy restraunts. Will be way kewl when it comes to fruition .....

They not give much info and not start The promo yet.
The opening promise be awesome with TV stars that they don't reveal yet :-(
I know many projects come to here but for now is only the store and a steak house restaurant in front that are in build process right now.
Anyone here eligible for the "friends and family" shopping before they open to the public? I'm told it is pretty typical for BPS, allows the store employees to get up to speed in a low-stress setting.
Also might be the only chance to get some 22lr before the locusts.

Maybe they're behind schedule, but if I was going to launch a big box outdoors store, I'd make damn sure the thing was up and running by hunting season.
anyone know if there hiring?

That's why they are BPS, and not Cabela's ;)

The general manager told us they only make a special opening for 3 hours that all sold will be for a Local Conservation program but is for general public, nos for family or friends. They also will not publish the date and time to the media because the last time go out if control and need to be only 3 hours.
anyone know if there hiring?
Yeap, they made the Job Fair in august, 2,500 people in both days.
They have now all employes trained, preparing and filling the store but keep an eye in to the website because they will need more people later.

Magnum Shooting Center is also going in near Bass Pro but don't look for them until summer of 2014. 24 pistol/rifle lanes, two 50 yard pistol/rifle lanes and six 100 yard pistol/rifle lanes. Membership is pricey with one time registration fees of $299 plus $28.50 per month for individual membership. No military/LEO discounts that I saw on their website.
Looks like a great facility and nice fit with Bass Pro shop, but registration fees make you think real hard about how many times you need to use the range to get your monies worth.

Ridiculous Expensive!!!!!! I thought "Pines" are expensive but this is ridiculous. I expect a free box if ammo in every visit with this prices.

As noted in the other thread, this is still cheaper than Whistling Pines. Not much cheaper, but still cheaper.
GRAND OPENINGNovember 20
Ceremony Begins at 6:00pm
Ribbon Cutting at 6:30pmClick to view entire Grand Opening circular (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPageC?storeId=10151&langId=-1&catalogId=10051&appID=163&template=circular.cfm&i=179893&m=28256&storeID=78&tab=3)

And if it actually opens it offers more than Whistling Pines does. Private clubs are expensive, that's why they are private, it keeps the Fudds away.
We are plenty of ammo, 10 box per person, 2 pounds of powder and 2 sleeves of primers. I'm still working :-(
