View Full Version : convert ak74 wasr2 to underfolder?

AK gurus,
I've got a cheap ak74 wich I would love to convert to an underfolder.
I can find underfolding stock with hardware for fairly cheap...
The question is - is it possible to do it? Is it hard to convery?
If any of you guys can do it for me, I am willing to pay.

Does it come with the rear trunnion, if not you'll need one of those. Then you will remove the fixed stock unit, cut new holes, for the UF. There are templates on line to show you where the new holes need to be cut. Once the new ones are cut, you need to figure out what you're going to do the the existing holes, from the fixed stock.

What Jimbo said. It can be done, I have done a few and have the measurements for the receiver machining. On a couple I recall having to weld up rivet holes that were in different places.

As soon as I get parts - I'll be calling/texting you. I'm pretty sure I still have your number.
I also want to fix the front side on that ak (freaking thing is all crooked) and (if possible) shorten the barrwl and permanently attach the muzzle device (which I need to find too).

You might just want to start fresh with a list like that. Maybe get into a M85 kit or something similiar, unless your stuck on the M74 cartridge.

APEX would be the better choice.By far cheaper than KVAR.

Since you have a wasr 2 and it's not exactly a desirable receiver not having the mag well dimples I would get a nodak 74 underfolder receiver those look to be made for an akms pattern stock assembly so get polish parts (trunnion stock etc) if the trunnion on your wasr carries the serial number then it's married to your receiver and you have to get a new front trunnion if not you can remove the front trunnion
