I hadn't heard this one before...

For years, polls from NBC have shown super majority support for what gun control advocates call “sensible reforms,” from background checks to limits on commando-style assault weapons.
Almost a year after Newtown, does anyone care about gun control anymore? (http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/10/04/20821070-almost-a-year-after-newtown-does-anyone-care-about-gun-control-anymore?lite&ocid=msnhp&pos=1)

Well you know, when you run around with a rifle and no underwear..........you have a "Commando" style rifle.
Simple no?

Here is a thought on "Common Sense" gun control: its bullshit. Most people have at least a bit of common sense and they realize we don't have a gun problem, we have a people problem.

Oh and show of hands- who here still believes the entire "official" Newtown story?

Another of those lies they hope to repeat often enough to make true.

Another stinking pile of shit from NBC.

Newtown was a convenient event for the ill informed, a chance to beat their drums and pile on more government control.

It's not that "they don't care" anymore, its because "they" have decided to remain quiet until the right time then ramrod or EO new laws through. The navy yard killings took the wind out of a jump start for gun legislation, due to a few factors

1 - shooter was Black
2 - .Gov WAS WARNED, BUT IGNORED INFO
3 - Shooter used the new version of a saturday night special. The Biden Double Barrel . Easy to purchase, easy to use, easy to kill, multiple victims.
4 - The media and liberals could not use the same shit of, ANGRY WHITE MALE, GUN NUT , PREPPER, CHRISTIAN because the shooter was none of the above.
5 - Without the advantage of #'s 1 / 3 & 4 how could anyone justify the same mantra that has been used over and over.

Throw in the D's & Obama's continual stone walling , along with some R's for a solution to the shut down, upcoming debt ceiling, and waiting in the shadows, ILLEGAL Immigration Reform.
The AG's jump back to Gun Control and they will be ran out, of office faster than Morse & Giron. Why risk their position of power now. When they can wait till after 2014, IF things don't change legislative wise.

Very true Jim, but we also have them steadily chipping away under the radar such as revamping the NFA processes on trusts, the signing of the SAT draft in the UN, the ACA etc. They continue their degradation of our rights.

Newtown?
That story is looser than a screen door in a 25 cent whorehouse during a 48 hour shore leave.

After 4 months at sea, i'd tie a 2x4 across my ass, for a $0.25 whore on shore leave. I found 2 packs of US made malboro's was accepted, in lieu of AMERICAN dollars. Pair of levi's and you ran the house for the day. MMMMMMMMMM i'll try the fatter asian for lunch, followed by the same girth tunisian, as dessert.

Has there ever been more mention of the reported second shooter?

Your other post is correct - this one is quite loose. Not even sure what they are trying to sell us on that one.

What is the "official" story?

(Guns are bad)That an evil bad whacko prepper kid with mental issues(guns are bad) that was well trained(guns are bad) due to mommy taking him shooting with those evil guns(guns are bad) and his superior tactical knowledge due to violent video games(guns are bad) shot his mommy(guns are bad) as she slept and took her guns(guns are bad) and drove to the school where she had some type of tie to the school and then went and shot his way into the school(guns are bad) that had a brand new security system that somehow malfunctioned(guns are bad) and got no photos of the bad whacko prepper kid with his guns(guns are bad)and he managed single-handedly to round up all those kids(guns are bad)and slaughter them(guns are bad)with a Bushmaster AR15(guns are bad) a SIG(guns are bad) and a Glock(guns are bad)somehow with only two hands(guns are bad).

Any questions?

So for cliff notes would you say, GUNS ARE BAD?

Bert, you forgot to mention the 'Saiga shotgun(guns are bad)'.

Even with the narrative that has been promoted, none of the previous laws on the books or new legislation addressed the real problems.

This is the same liberal game plan to promote more control throughout our lives by using emotion, not logic or reason. They always have to come up with some 'crisis' to get past the low-information voters and pound through another nail in the coffin of this nation.

Does anyone beside anti-gun and lofo voters truly believe it's about stopping or reducing mass shootings, as much as it is about total ban / confiscation of firearms.

They are using the "playbook" to a tee.

http://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/748675/gun-violencemessaging-guide-pdf-1.pdf

Three key themes drive the most powerful arguments for gun violence prevention:
ONE: The serious personal toll that gun violence takes on people’s lives.
TW0: People’s right to be free from violence in their communities.
THREE: The changing nature of weapons towards more powerful, military-style ones that
make us less safe.

#1: ALWAYS FOCUS ON EMOTIONAL AND VALUE-DRIVEN
ARGUMENTS ABOUT GUN VIOLENCE, NOT THE POLITICAL
FOOD FIGHT IN WASHINGTON OR WONKY STATISTICS.

#2: TELL STORIES WITH IMAGES AND FEELINGS.

#3: CLAIM MORAL AUTHORITY AND THE MANTLE OF FREEDOM.

#4: EMPHASIZE THAT EXTRAORDINARILY DANGEROUS, MILITARY-STYLE
WEAPONS ARE NOW WITHIN EASY REACH ACROSS AMERICA.

#5: EMPHASIZE THAT AMERICA HAS WEAK GUN LAWS
AND DON’T ASSUME THAT PEOPLE KNOW THAT.

#6: CHALLENGE THE NRA ON YOUR TERMS, NOT THEIRS.

PROPAGANDA TECHNIQUES

A propaganda technique is an improper appeal to emotion used for the purpose of swaying the opinions of an audience. The following propaganda techniques are common:

1. Bandwagon: This technique involves encouraging people to think or act in some way simply because other people are doing so. For example: "All your neighbors are rushing down to Mistri Motors to take advantage of this year-end sale. You come, too!"

2. Snob appeal: This technique involves making a claim that one should act or think in a certain way because of the high social status associated with the action or thought. For example: "Felson’s Furs – the feeling of luxury, for those who can afford the very best."

3. Vague, undefined terms: This technique involves promoting or challenging an opinion by using words that are so vague or so poorly defined as to be almost meaningless. For example: "Try our new and improved, all-natural product."

4. Loaded words: This technique involves using words with strong positive or negative connotations, or associations. Name-calling is an example of the use of loaded words. So is any use of words that are charged with emotion. For example: "No really intelligent voter would support his candidacy."

5. Transfer: This technique involves making an illogical association between one thing and something else that is generally viewed as positive or negative. For example: " The American pioneers worked hard because they cared about the future. If you can about the future of your family, then see your agent at Pioneer Insurance."

6. Unreliable testimonial: This technique involves having an unqualified person endorse a product, action, or opinion. For example: "Hi, I’m Bart Bearson. As a pro-football quarterback, I have to be concerned about my health. That’s why I take Pro-Ball Vitamin Supplements."
