Here's a list of Colorado mayors who belong to MAIG. I suspect that an association with the man who tried to buy the outcome of the recall efforts earlier this year isn't exactly something that most people in this state would consider to be a positive thing.

Mayor Matthew Appelbaum, Boulder, CO
Mayor Michael B. Hancock, Denver, CO
Mayor Randy P. Penn, Englewood, CO
Mayor Marjorie Sloan, Golden, CO
Mayor Carolyn Cutler, Lafayette, CO
Mayor Bob Murphy, Lakewood, CO
Mayor Robert Muckle, Louisville, CO
Mayor Marc A. Snyder, Manitou Springs, CO
Mayor Joe Gierlach, Nederland, CO
Mayor Joyce Downing, Northglenn, CO
Mayor Don Stephens, Salida, CO
Mayor Andrew Muckle, Superior, CO
Mayor Stuart Fraser, Telluride, CO

He has way too much influence here in CO.

The more pub this gets the better. Now what do we do about this?

Attach some email addresses and for those of you who live in those towns, you NEED to write these people and tell them their association with this group will prevent you from voting for them and cause you to donate $$ and your time to the person that has the best chance of beating them out.

I'd ask them to confirm or deny. MAIG has a history of claiming members that deny ever "joining".

Like they give a shit how you vote. LOOK at the list, Look at their Party affiliation, Look at their voting district.
You might as well demand DeGette sponsor a bill protecting 2a rights, or she doesn't get your vote.

One or 2 of them may be incorrectly listed, i doubt it. That Denvor mayor, he's probably the only one on there by accident

Would you prefer to have each person rescind their membership, then vote for them, or just follow through with your threat and support someone else anyway?

Boulder doesn't directly elect the mayor so Applebaum has nothing to fear.. Not like it would make a difference anyway, it could be considered a plus for the people that actually get out and vote here.

Lakewood, Bob Murphy. I sent him a nice email months ago during the whole 2A fight. He never responded.

I actually signed a petition to allow his re-election before all the MAIG info was available. I liked him before, not so much now. Hope he shows up at another neighborhood meeting.

I wonder how much money MAIG pays these mayors to put their name on the roll of members?

I'm sure they get invited to a yearly gala hosted by some of the Hollywood elites as well as a getaway to the Caribbean for one of those brainstorming/group building weekends.. otherwise I can't see why anyone would join.

Prestige, Showing those higher up the Donation food chain you might be a worthwhile investment, in a manner of speaking of course.

Wait till he retire as mayor of NYC, that's when the fun starts.

This totally explains why Golden has a no open carry ordinance... which I didn't know existed until about a month and a half ago when I did a ride along with a Golden PD officer. FML. Glad I didn't get hired by them.

Being an LE is also based on your ability to make decisions / judgement calls, in the field.

The Golden Police Chief was the star LEO for the Gun Grabbers when they got the gun bills past earlier this year. They asked him how long it takes to do a mag change and he fumbled through it as much as he could trying to make it sound like it takes years to do a mag change before he said a few seconds. The guy came across a total tool bag. I hope the rest of the Golden PD isn't full of stooges like this guy.

At any rate, I used to like to go to Golden for family night outs but after seeing that, I make sure to skip it and have not been back there since to spend any money.
