View Full Version : So apparently the ENTIRE Govt isnt shut down - my check was cashed
I saw multiple notes from NSSF and other organizations that the NFA is not considered a "critical function" and there would be no processing of forms while the "government slim down" was in effect. Apparently that doesnt count for the govt to take our money. I saw that my check for my Form 1 was in fact just cashed last Friday, about 10 days after it was sent it. SOMEONE is home! No, I dont expect that there is any active processing of that going on but just thought it was interesting how this slimdown works...

It's not the NFA branch doing the check depositing - just low-level mail/data entry type clerks in the basement.

Don't burst his bubble. The people who answer the phones are not ATF'ers either, just low level GS-3-6's, Some are contract work too.
