Hello everyone,

I am a long time hand gun fan and first time AR owner. I just picked up my AR today and unfortunately might have stepped on fellow shooter's toe.

I went to pick up my AR in Boulder today and proceeded to the Lyons shooting range around 1pm. I went unprepared since I only had about an hour to test out the ar before deciding to purchase. A gentleman (shot M1 and AK variant) wasn't too happy with my hasty retreat after 3 clips without picking up my brass. I want to openly apoligize to him (hope somehow he belongs here). I have been to Lyons range twice before, and I always bring tarp and bucket to clean after myself. I assure next time I am around, I ll do my due and then some.

You wear blue sweater I believe and shot few rounds of M1 and then AK variant. You told me 'safety first' when I clumsily put down the AR upward - even w/ an open bolt position. Then as I am leaving, you mentioned something about picking up the brass. I didn't feel like explaining myself as I was running late already.

Hope I can meet you and others here at better term! :)

PS: AR is GREAT!!!

Welcome. [Beer]

It was not me but if you left a mess I would have said something. That being said if you don't have time to clean up after yourself then don't go shooting! There is no excuse ever for being unsafe or not picking up after yourself.

Thank you. I despise people who dont clean up. That's why I feel real bad. I didn't expect finding those 90 brass would be so hard with all the litter. I picked up no more than a dozen before i ran out of time. I ll be back there tomorrow w extra trash bags!

As far as safety, I mentioned what he said for reference. At no point, anyone is in harm way.

I don't know about everyone else, but I hate you.

Why? Because you suck at telling stories, that's why.

Where is all the danger? The adventure?

I fell asleep during the middle of your story. I woke up a little at the mention of some minor confrontation, hoping it would turn into a full blown gun fight, but it just fizzled out.
Disappointing. Next time you post about making someone mad, one of you better end up in a wheel chair!

Love,

-Stu

Next time you don't want to pick up your brass, tell me. I like free brass. If you let it sit there overnight, you goptta fill your car with (full) trash bags and head to the dump. It's only right :D

Every time I have been to that spot to shoot I feel like a beggar asking people "are you saving your brass?".... Most don't and enjoy seeing me scrounge around on the ground with an occasional smile when I pick up a piece that I need. What can I say I'm a brass whore. I even been pushed out by competition up there. A whole family came up with buckets and muscled me out. Anyways, welcome and do your part to expend ammo!

I have a small bucket full of 5.56 and .223 brass. They are mostly remington .223 and lake city m885 5.56. I ll bring it to the club shooting one of these days.[Beer]
