I'm about to bang my head against the wall try to get my CCW set up the way I want it. I've been through multiple holsters and belts and nothing is making me happy. Just looking to see what you guys run so I can stop pissing away money. I've run kydex owb, leather iwb, kydex iwb...nothing is working right. I have a longer torso, boney hips, and since the baby was born a little belly(gotta stop eating every time he does ). I'm thinking leather owb high rise should fix most problems. 3o'clock seems best as I drive a lot. When I'm gonna be on my feet all day I run a lcr appendix iwb, works well so far. Let's see what you guys are running.....

You keep searching and trying different types and styles until you find what works for you.
Then you post up in the accessories for sale section the ones you didn't like. I bought a few slightly used holsters here and from other sites until I found what suited me before I went out and ordered new holsters.
What I prefer and like, and what someone else likes may be compleatly wrong and uncomfortable for you.

Full size M&P in a Comp-Tac Minotaur Spartan anywhere from 230 to 4 o'clock.
MTAC here with a wilderness belt, can wear it all day. I've tried the OWB raven type holsters they just don't hug close enough for me. Have you tried appendix carry? It is just uncomfortable or are you printing?

Iwb doesn't work for the m&p's due to boney hips. I carry appendix when I carry the lcr but it's uncomfortable when I sit due to e new gut.

Glock 23 in Comp-Tac Infidel (IWB) with Belt Clip at 4 o'clock. Spare mag at 9 o'clock and Fury Flashlight at 8 o'clock, both Comp-Tac OWB Pouches. I carry with a t-shirt untucked and everything against the skin during the summer. Never had an issue.
Used to use the Minotaur MTAC, but did not like the way it slid around with the single screws on the clips. If it had two screws to keep it in place with would have been perfect for me.
Good Luck

Just get fat and you don't have to worry about boney hips.

Glaco V-hawk IWB

As the weather cools and garments grow, I will go OWB in a www.coloradoholster.com
Try wearing it at 4-5 o'clock. Put some moleskin in the back of the holster that touches the skin.

Try wearing it at 4-5 o'clock.
Winner!
I was dead set on carrying at the 3 o'clock forever. Comfort wise the 3 wasn't bad, but conceal ability wasn't always the greatest.
I recently switched to the 4 to 5ish position and could not be happier. Both comfort and conceal ability are much better.
I run a full size, all steel 1911 in an IWB from Gary Brommeland at 4-5 o'clock. This holster has a 25 degree forward cant that tucks the grip in your small of back. It disappears.

I think some moleskin might help a bit. I also looked at my kydex owb and they aren't made very well. I'm tempted to try Colorado holsters but the website is pretty much nonexistent from what I'm seeing so does anyone else have somebody they use for kydex owb?

Anybody have a zorn Trojan kydex? Pics on the website look nice, I like the belt loop design they use.

Good luck finding something comfortable. I've been carrying a concealed handgun since the late 80s. I've yet to find a method of CCW that is really comfortable. Acceptable and bearable, sure. Not comfortable. So, I've just learned to do the best I can. OWB when possible, IWB otherwise. Sometimes I carry a smaller gun in a pocket. I've just learned to adapt.
Clint Smith put it all into perspective when he said: "Your concealed handgun should be comforting, not comfortable."
After adopting that mindset the comfort issue wasn't such a big deal any longer.

I think this about sums it up. The sooner you accept that carrying IWB, is never truly going to be comfortable, the better off you will be.
When I say "comfortable holster", I mean comfortable for having a chunk of plastic and steel in my waste band.
A nice OWB Raven style kydex, and a crossbreed style IWB are about the best combination of options I've used. OWB when I can wear a coat or jacket, IWB for all other times.

I have a own kydex currently but I think it's too big and causing issues with where to put it. I also have a galco king tuk, works pretty good but makes my pants slide down....maybe some moleskin would help that.
I've got a couple appendix that are damn comfy. I'm sure your new found gut can't be worse than the one I'm trying to get rid of.
I have an appendix for my 238 and it's far more comfy in the 5 o'clock than appendix. However the g17,19, and 23 are all comfy in appendix

For what it's worth I have found a good thick, stiff as hell belt makes a big difference in keeping the gun snugged up against me. I carry a glock 19 with a light in a JM custom kydex owb holster at my 9 o'clock (I'm a lefty). When I am wearing a normal, bought at the mall belt it tends to fall away from my body a bit. If I am using something specific for carrying (beltman or liger gun belt) it sits a little closer to me.

Ive got my share of carry belts as well. The one I like best needs to be upsized as I wear it too tight now to make it fit.

+1 for the galco king tuk. I'm new to the ccw world but as a first impression the king tuk at 4oc to 5oc position has been comfortable. I'm a skinny guy also and 3oc just doesn't work.
Volund gear works 1.5" lo pro. Belt, OTGHEX AIWB Kydex MK2. Glock 19/23 FrankenGlock. 12:30-2 depending on weather, attire, and sitting vs. standing.
