Anyone who frequents the streams and rivers of Colorado doing some fly fishing carry? If so how?
I fish alone a lot and am looking for ideas on what's worked for you while fishing.
Thanks!

Not exactly understanding your question? I conceal carry everywhere not prohibited by law.
Are you asking for methods of carry with waders or something?

Yes I suppose I should have been more clear on that. Ccw with waders or even without. Do you still use iwb? Of have you found nice bag or back pack options? Just tryin to get ideas of the different methods while fishing.

Maybe a shoulder holster with a jacket over it?
Take a look at the SafePacker: http://www.thewilderness.com/safepacker-concealment-holster/
Of you could put a shoulder or chest rig with a cover garment, since you wouldn't want to be digging in your waders.

Don't fly fish, but find this very useful in my outdoor adventures, especially with backpacks where it is hard to use a belt holster. Would also provide lots of extra storage for flys, line, extra reel, etc.
Ribz front pack.

Carry a full size 1911 with 2 extra mags in it.

I like that a lot! Would be perfect for day hikes.
I'd also suggest a chest rig of some sort. Could probably attach flys to the front of it as well.

I got it in the spring. I have used it every trip this summer. 10 times maybe.
Its great cause you can have your essentials in it and take your pack off and still have everything you need. And worked out great for those ventures away from camp.

Is open carry prohibited where you fish ? If not, I would not want to be rummaging around in that pouch set up trying to pull a handgun out when big bear wanders up behind you.

To be honest I'm my to worried about the wildlife here in CO. I don't think open carry is illegal at a in most areas I've been, but I'm more wary of the two legged kind who don't look like they're out to fish. So concealed to me seems like a better choice IMO. Open isn't a bad choice though.

Hill people kit bag (snubby). Perfect for this, unless you are already wearing a chest rig. Also, perfect for cycling, and it's a Colorado company

A repro of a basic M3 or M7 shoulder holster should work fine, depending on the gun of course. I have a brand new M7 that I bought by mistake that I'll never use, I'd let it go cheap.

Anyone use an M7 shoulder style holster with a lightweight pack? I'm using a nylon holster on the hip strap on my Badlands Stealth day pack and it's a PITA. Looking for other options that give me fast access without sacrificing comfort.

This! I love mine. get the larger size and you've got room for a couple of fly boxes to.

355513555335555I use the HPG "Recon kit bag". it has MOLLE webbing so configuration for different uses is a plus. the two pics of just the bag show it with a Maxpedition pouch mounted, just the bag without any pouches mounted in fish pic.

Damn, that's a helluva nice trout! I'm not sure I'd make a good fly fisherman, it would kill me to have to release one like that. I'd be itching to heat up a skillet.

this his is a great idea with the vanguard holster!
Consider a thong going around your neck. Drill and tap a lanyard loop for a magazine or revolver frame.
Weapon would be inside your waders, but held up by the chest/belly strap.
I used to carry that way when building duck blinds in GA swamps.
I just put my Glock 26 on a inside pocket of my Simms Vest. Works great.
