View Full Version : Colorado Obamacare "Brosurance"
What the heck is this? Apparently it's serious.

Looks like there are a bunch of them.

lets see, single, young, male. Not the ones at high risk for needing health insurance (other than getting hit by a bus). Exactly the people who choose to go without it and accept the risk. Exactly the same people who now must sign up and get essentially nothing in return.
Can see what there would be advertising to them.. Stupid but then most advertising is.

I went from the age of 19-23 without insurance. Never got hurt, never went to the dentist or doctor. I also accepted the risk if I did get hurt I'd being paying out of sight bills. Here I am at age 29 with insurance, not Broncobama insurance.

Is there any human on the planet that would see those ads and think to themselves "You know what...I do need some brosurance."?
Brosurance ad campaign brought to you by your own tax dollars.

They need a large majority of men to sign up for health care coverage to make it cost effective. Women are significantly larger consumers of health care than men but one of the laws is that premiums must be equal for each gender ... so if men don't sign up it will increase costs dramatically.
It's much cheaper for me to pay the penalty than to have insurance --- I know better with the high risk activities I participate in that I need insurance but a lot of self employed folks can't afford it.

A lot of 18 to 25 year olds get government provided healthcare. It's called military service for some and a prison sentence for others.

One thing missing is that they need young men to sign up. Healthy people that will not use anything in their plan but be forced to pay into it to cover the fact that genders are charged the same and they can only charge seniors a certain amount more (3x I think?) than the 18-22 year olds. The penalty is paid into the IRS, so who knows if it will actually go back to Obamacare funds or some other slush fund.

Isn't the IRS penalty for not getting it only $95 for 2014 year and goes up each year to $700 or something? I looked the other day and the amount I'd pay per year would be $2,999. Yeah that makes sense. I double checked and if I only made $24,000 it'd still cost $1587 a year minimum.
does that guy have on several polo shirts? I have never seen that before. they must be only be "friends" because that looks a lot light in the loafers.
Brother and sister.
What's more 80's than a Polo with a popped collar? 4 Polos with popped collars!!!
...and he's probably wearing 4 pairs of jeans with the bottoms cuffed and rolled.

Hence the reason the entire pyramid scheme is doomed to fail...
aren't you eligible to leech off your parents insurance until you are 26?
The entire scheme is built to obfuscate the real motivation behind it...

-yeah, not sure I see how that's going to work out when extrapolated across the overall population.

I want to say until your 27th birthday now, and you don't have to be single and in school anymore.
I did that when I went back to college, back then it stopped on your 26th birthday. Afterwards I could have gone on cobra and extended it out even further for probably less than obomacare.

4 Polos with popped collars!!!
I thought I counted 5 (or perhaps 4 polos and a green undershirt). The base, then counted collars on the right.
