View Full Version : Big R and trigger locks.
Went into Big R today to look at a pistol. The guy took the gun out of the case and set it down and walked away. I looked at it for a couple of seconds and then asked if he could take off the trigger lock so I could see how it really felt. He said he couldn't it was store policy. I looked at it a few more minutes and then asked again why he couldn't. He said again it was store policy. I go well it's a little hard to get the feel for a gun with the trigger lock in place. He goes on to tell me that someone at another Big R was looking at a gun pulled a round out of his pocket, chambered it and shot himself in the head in the store. Anyone hear about this?
That same thing happened at a pawnshop on south Broadway in englewood a few years ago. I think it's a lady.

If it can save one life, Isn't it Worth It?

Not about saving lives. You must actually BUY the gun you want to kill yourself with. The gun that gets taken by the police for evidence will be paid for first damn it. :)
Some lady rented a gun at the Cherry Creek range and shot herself a couple of years ago.

I remember that it just makes me mad that I have to drive 20 miles now to handle some goodies. Hopefully Franktown Firearms will see an increase in sales and be able to carry a larger selection.

Hey, the people voted for Obama...
Umm. With a revolver you could just load a round pull the hanger just short of luck back and drop it. The lock us kinda pointless there.

Didn't she shoot her son first? Or was that at Firing Line?

At Cherry Creek, it was a set of Australian twins who tried to commit suicide. One succeeded, one didn't.
10-15 years ago I went to an indoor range in CA and tried to rent a pistol for an hour: no-go. They would not rent to someone who showed up alone as it was a bit of a suicide trend out there at the time apparently.
