View Full Version : Anyone Here Do Custom Exhaust Work?
I have been using a local exhaust shop for all of my stuff and I have tried doing it myself. I guess I just don't do it often enough to be good at it. Does someone on here own or work at a shop? I have a new setup I need finished on my Tahoe. Pretty basic but if I can support someone on here I would prefer to do that!

Maybe lpgasman?
I have two new mufflers that need to get welded in. I also need the old muffler cut out. I have cut out all of the rear section after the muffler (true duals). Once the new mufflers are welded I need two 3" pipes run about 4' to a side exit in front of the rear axle.

He does good work and seemed reasonably priced.

Do you have a pipe expander? My piping coming into the muffler is only 2.25 inch so it will have to be expanded and then where have you been buying your pipe? It is a trek but I actually have to head down there in two weeks so maybe we could utilize your skills!
I have used Bud's in the past and I was pleased with the welds they were pricey at the time. I have also heard good things about that performance shop too, especially for the diesel crowd. I always appreciate good recommendations however the idea here is that I wanted to personally support a fellow member of the forum.

Negative on the expander, you can get up/down sizers pretty easy. That's what I did with the red car, its got a 2.25 down pipe into an up sizer to a 2.5" muffler and rear section.
I get lengths of exhaust tube from a shop here in town and mandrels from another shop (better price than shop #1)
Is your Tahoe lifted? My garage is short..
EDIT:
You can see the up/down sizer in this pic..

My Tahoe is not lifted so jacking up in a standard garage should be fine. I am going to get an estimate from the local source and see what they will do it for. After that I'll get with you on a PM and see what we can work out.
Thanks for the offer dude!
