I'm in need of some home improvement help from someone like mined. We have a finished L shaped basement and I want to wall off the L and turn it into a storage room for our "supplies"
i dont like the idea of just anyone seeing what we currently have or are trying to accomplish. Anyone here deal in framing and drywall?

I have done a project like that.
What do you mean "anyone"?
If there is an outside window in the partitioned off area, it's gonna be pretty obvious, especially if it is an egress window.
You have to consider duct work if it is visible, lighting and light switches, etc.
The lay out of your upstairs could also be a dead giveaway that part of the basement is missing too.
Building a wall and hiding the access is the easiest part.

Actually I'm not looking to hide the space as much as partition it off from the rest of the basement. The "corner" if you will used to be my office but has quickly filled up with boxes and cases.
I need to to just frame a doorway, add support for a built in desk and drywall over the whole thing.
i just don't like idea of any old contractor coming in and seeing the large amount of stuff I want to put in the room as there is no place to hide it until the work is done.

Sounds like you are politely saying that you are more comfortable with and trust a forum member coming to your house than a "stranger" (albeit a contractor).
And that a forum member would probably be more comfortable seeing the type of stuff you are going to store, and a stranger/contractor might not be.
Maybe even to the point that you would hate to take a chance on a stranger/contractor "sharing" what he saw with the wrong people.
( Didn't mean to meddle...PM me if you want this post deleted...no problem...but it seemed like people were missing your point...heck, maybe "I" am missing the point)[blah-blah]

bingo. Not looking for Angie's list recommendation of some dude who's gonna eyeball my stuff.
and for the record I'm not even looking for someone who will do it all for me. I'm willing to actually do a lot of the work, I just need someone who knows what they are doing for guidance.

The type of flooring you have in the area would also dictate any extra difficulties in framing the area. I am assuming your basement is already finished, so running lighting and switches for the storage area would add extra difficulties.
Large tarps can hide items that you don't want prying eyes to see.
I can come down and line you out but I don't have much spare time right now to do the work for you.
move the stuff into the garage for a couple weeks...
just tell the contractor is going to be taking up canning and making jam, which is why you need a dark storage room.
