View Full Version : Suppressor for 300BLK and 9mm
I am certainly no expert on this topic but my opinion is that unless you already have the 9MM suppressor, why not get a .30 cal suppressor designed for rifle and then you can look to retrofit thread backwards? I suppose you may be able to run 300 BLK sub only through a 9mm can on a longer barrel with the correct thread adapter but, one huge advantage of a 300 BLK is you can go from subsonic to high velocity supersonic with a simple mag/ammo change. Not sure a 9mm rated can would hold up to supersonic ammo from a rifle caliber and especially if it is a short barrel. The last thing you want is to destroy is an expensive and really difficult to replace (read that as it takes forever to get a new stamp) suppressor. I figure as long as you listed "weight not being an issue" then go with a better rifle rated can and you then have MORE choices. My suppressor will be able to go on my 300 BLK SBR, 6.8 SPC, 5.56 and still run when I use the 22LR conversion. I dont own a .308 but it is rated for that too so pretty universal. Oh and I say "will be able to" because I am in that looooooong line of people waiting on thier stamp.....

I hope it's a take-apart can if you plan on running .22LR through it (even the cleanest .22LR is filthy in terms of how much residue it leaves behind in a suppressor).

I just bought a SWR Octane 45 can. Covers 45, 40, 9 and 300 Blackout. It has interchangeable pistons and can be broken down for maintenance.

Yeah totally agree that 22LR would not be a great caliber to shoot through a can which is why I contacted the vendor. According to YHM, my Phantom LT will support that but would need to be cleaned more. Wasnt really planning on suppressing that cal but I certainly could. Not a "noisy" caliber anyways so my main interest is the 300 BLK.

What barrel length will they support for 300 BLK? Many vendors dont warrant rifle cals through a pistol suppressor with a short barrel - except 300 BLK but then you can't (?) shoot higher velocity ammo through it. Sub should be good though eh?

I have various suppressors from .22LR up to .30 and if I had it to do over, the rimfire cans are the only ones I'd buy. .22LR might not be "noisy" compared to other options (not that it's anywhere close to being hearing-safe) but when suppressed, it's the quietest/cheapest/most fun caliber I shoot.

It is full auto rated for pistol caliber and subsonic for 300 Blk. They dont mention a bbl limit.
Look at a Liberty Mystic (http://libertycans.net/mystic/). You can get 1/2 and 5/8 mounts for it, too.
Which is exactly the setup I have.

+1 on the Mystic. I think mine (9mm) is rated for full auto on 300 blackout, both super and sub sonic. And, and, and, its take apart to clean so you can shoot 22 through it also.
Sounds like Silent Precision (https://www.ar-15.co/forums/209-Silent-Precision-LLC) has Mystics in stock (read: in state) and at a killer price. No form 3 time, etc. Jump right to your form 4.
Not sure if your 9mm is a pistol or a rifle. If it's a rifle, see if he offers the Mystic without a booster -- just get the adapters.
If you're interested jump quick!

They now have one less in stock.[Dance]

I'm planning on running a three lug adapter on my 8.5" 300BLK for use with my jailbroken AAC ECO-9.
That way I can swap my can between my 9mm AR (3-lug adapter), 300BLK, 9mm handguns and 22LR.
The Mystic sounds pretty neat in that you can even use it on 223.
