Ok, I only managed to get an OTC bull tag this year and no draw. Next year I want to hunt Elk, deer, and antelope. What is the best strategy for getting a permit of any sex of all three. If I get a deer draw then I can get an OTC bull tag the same week right? If I get an elk draw for first season then what are my chances of getting a deer draw? Should I put in multiple areas, even ones I don't want to hunt? I had shots at really nice bucks this season but no tag. Why are they so strict with the Mule deer tags? Is it CWD? It's so complicated. If anyone can help me out I'd appreciate it. PM me please if you don't want this info going out. Thanks in advance.

Multiple tags of different species or multiple elk tags?

The different species are not related. You can put in to draw a deer tag, an antelope tag and an elk tag at the same time. You are not limited.

If you want multiple elk tags, you look in the regulations for the chart as to what tags are "A", "B" and "C". You can have one "A" and one "B" and unlimited "C" tags in elk - but "C" tags are hard to get.

Usually that means one bull tag and one cow tag. Sometimes, but less often lately, you can find "A" and "B" tags for the same unit /season.

^^^This.

Got til next spring to run all the combinations. Throw in some bow action and hunt late summer and all fall and winter.

I'm convinced that CDOW is less about game management and more about revenue. I see no reason for the idiotic multiple short seasons nor the severe restrictions on licenses.

Having grown up hunting in Montana, where the season is 5 weeks and you can get multiple elk, deer and antelope tags for rifle season, Colorado is just the 'land of confusion'. Last year my oldest brother, living in MT, got 5 antelope, 2 dear and one elk. Not bad for a 65-year old retired Navy geezer.

I've decided to get into archery, which I have not done in 30 years, and take the .54 cal flintlock out to the field not just the range. More seasons.
