Found Myself in the place to check out Gander Mountian up in Thornton..

Walked back and Checked the guns and ammo.. The only thing of note was a 1937 91/30 for $115. Not bad, considering..

Walking through the Ammo, one really caught My eye..

Box of 50, Remington green box, 115gr 9mm, $49.99....

Just thought I'd share....[ROFL1]

?? $50 for 50 rnds of 9mm?

I'm not familiar with "Remington Green Box", but that sounds VERY expensive for 9mm to me.

Not too far out of wack... Madwayusa has the Remmy green box 115 grain FMJ for $34.99 and Jacket HP for $39.99
147's JHP's are $41.49

By the way, they are also sold out at these prices.

Some 9mm Cor-Bon is $37/25 rounds

The big deal here is actually finding ammo in stock no matter what the price......
Almost all handgun ammo is sold out everywhere I've looked.

I remember around the late '80's getting 9mm and 38 special for $5.00/box of 50. $10 was expensive for hydra-shock ammo.
I just looked in my ammo case and found some Eldorado Starfire 10mm 180 grain JHP, box of 20 priced at $6.50

Just 6 months ago you could buy Winny White Box 100 count 9mm FMJ for $13.99 at Wally-world.
Glad I stocked up......

Anybody remember buying 20 count 223 Winny White box for $1.99?

I was buying PMP and bulk 223/5.56 for $40-45/500... I'm afraid those days are gone.... and will never return.

Made the same place as UMC, They just throw it in a green box with Remington on it.. If I remember right the same stuff was about $20-25 last year...

Craziness! The prices for ammo these days makes the price gouging during the Y2K hysteria seem absolutely tame.

if you lost all your firearms is a tragic boating accident you wouldn't have anything to worry about ;)

So when I read this thread, I just figured that they were mislabeled and Marlin was trying to be funny. I was there tonight though, and sure as shit, those Remingtons are $49.99. The .45 are $59.99. The had a bunch of Lawmen .40 S&W and .45 ACP full metal jacketed training rounds for only $19.99 per 50 though.
