If you have a fantastic memory last March I posted I was done with Colorado. Well, we just bought a house in Tyler Texas. We have supported local conservative candidates with money and time, been to all the tea party rallies, love the mountains and have lots of friends here. But, it's time to call this state a lost cause and advance to the rear. We found a nice community in Tyler and wish you guys the best. We'll be rooting for you and hope to read about the Colorado Miracle turn around. So long and thanks for all the mags.

Good luck to you! We'll be leaving next year for work anyway (it's been a nice rotational assignment).

Grats, guys! Getting out into the Piney Woods and enjoying those Tyler roses. Have you tried Earl Campbell's Sausage yet?

Have some great BBQ for me!

Use to drink in Tyler, a lot of drinking, in tyler. Long necks and what A burgers. Strip clubs and mc swap meets. Texas in the late 70's early 80's was like WYO, the same time period. They'd write you a ticket if you DIDN'T have an Open Container.

Is that your bottle Sir? no officer it isn't. May i have you DL, Ins and registration, please.

Spent far too many years living in TX (Ft. Hood and Dallas area) for my liking. Hate the heat, humidity, creepy-crawlies, flat land. Tyler is even more humid than Dallas but at least you have the Tyler roses and crape myrtle trees to look at. Plan on your electric bill being as high or higher than your mortgage for about 8 months of the year.

We'll try to get CO turned around.

BTW - With the TX legislature kowtowing to illegals, it won't be long before TX is as bad or worse than CO.

Teasers or Time Out?

I moved to Colorado from Jacksonville, 30min south of Tyler. Used to use the wife as my DD from the titty bars. Stopping at Whataburger on 69 going out of town on the way home and it was a good night. Still have family in Jacksonville, I go down there occasionally.

I hope I'm wrong but I feel like Texas is going to be the next state to fall. What's happening in San Antonio is only a beggining. Dems are pouring huge amounts of money into the state and they are motivated to "conquer" Texas and any immigration reform of any kind is going to be the death bed of the state.

The left will try to take over everywhere that stand for independence and liberty, nowhere is safe under their agenda, we might as well widen our allies.

People have other things going on in their lives other than CO gun laws. There may be an entire list of reasons not to stay.

I plan to stay through the next election cycle. We've drawn up a number of scenarios, including staying. We're weighing the pro's and con's of each.

Why they ultimately chose to leave, is really none of our business.

Texas is one of our options. There are plenty of jobs. They have their own power grid (http://www.texastribune.org/2011/02/08/texplainer-why-does-texas-have-its-own-power-grid/). They're one of the states that still has oil refining capacity. They have access to ports for shipping. Their legislature (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Legislature) is in session for 140 days every odd numbered year, and you don't get wealthy serving. The defense industry is strong there as well. Texas, it's like a whole other country.

Like 00Tec, I too lived in Jacksonville, TX south of Tyler. It is a nice area.

Considering I am from Texas I miss the state for sure, but not that area.

If you like music, pool, and drinks, check out Clicks. They have some good live bands there to boot.

We've been actively fighting but it's my judgment Colorado is lost. Dems from California are flooding in. "How nice for them to live in the pot capital." I'll keep fighting from my end and rooting for you guys behind enemy lines. Otherwise we love Colorado and did not want to leave. But I want see what it's like to live were nearly everyone hates Obama. How nice will that be!

Wife came from that area. And, she has an action pending in smith county. Maybe I'll have to come by and say hi sometime when I'm forced to drive down there. [Coffee]

Come on by. You won't believe how much more house you can buy in Texas! We'll have a pool and plenty of room for you :)
