No matter where it happened very sad that it happened at all.

The article was confusing, at first sounded like 3 woman, one shot who was 50 in the house. Then it mentions the male in the house, no balls no gun.

Then it mentions they are looking for up to 5 males multiple vehicles stolen. Fracking gaggle of crooks............ more the reason to have multiple armed homeowners and multiple mags.

That is why we have a strong door with steel frame and are always within easy reach of at least two weapons at any time. Noone I want to talk to knocks on my door, people we know call first so I pretty much never answer to door. Not having kids makes it much easier to hide guns in the house and not have to worry. Winning against five "hardened" thugs may not be possible but I would like to at least take down a couple.

I hope every man in Indianapolis sees this article and thinks to himself, "the family father was home and wasn't injured? Didn't he even try to stop it?" Maybe some of them will come to the conclusion that evil does exist and they should have the tools and training to stop it....

I do not know the circumstances of his situation and why he did not at least sustain any injuries, but I'll tell you one thing's for certain. If anyone tried this crap with my family while I was home, I'd have stopped it or died trying....

I hope every man in Indianapolis sees this article and thinks to himself, "the family father was home and wasn't injured? Didn't he even try to stop it?" Maybe some of them will come to the conclusion that evil does exist and they should have the tools and training to stop it....

Did you read the part about him needing a cane? Certainly not saying he shouldn't, especially if disabled, but maybe he is incapable?

No. There is no mention of the father needing a cane in the OP's link... either way, assuming that he did have limited mobility, he still could have put up a fight, called 911, hit the perps with his cane... Even if completely ineffective, it still would have deterred the perps to some degree.

Jim has a cane, I doubt this would have happened at Jim's house. Cane is no excuse.
