I heard pretty recently that Glock is no longer going to sell Gen 4s to the public and that they're going to go to LEO sales. I'm not really that concerned and I don't want anyone else to [panic] I'm just curious if anyone else has heard this rumor and if there is any actual truth behind it.

I haven't heard that and find it hard to believe. What would be the purpose? There is nothing to gain and a lot of business to lose.

If you aren't concerned and you don't want anyone else to panic, why would you continue spreading a rumor (if it is a rumor, as I suspect it is).
Most likely cause is someone got pissed at Glock because they of long wait times since 12/12, just like everyone else is.

Perhaps you didn't read my whole post, but I was asking if there was any basis to such a rumor. If someone comes in and says "I am an ffl dealer and glock contacted me saying they were going to do this" then there might actually be some fact behind it.

Also, I agree that going to LEO sales would not be a good move for glock
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof..
I see none..

If anything, I could understand or guess they are slowing down sales to civvies to catch up on LEO contracts but I dont think they will completely stop.

Yes, I read your entire post, all 2 sentences of it. I still stand by my statement: If you aren't concerned and don't want anyone to panic, why would you start a thread like this? It serves no purpose.
If however, you purchased a Gen4 Glock, it's been on backorder for months, and then your FFL called you to tell you that Glock is stopping sales to civilians, it might be reasonable to create this thread to find out why.

FYI LEO are Civilians, i.e. non-combatants.

The purpose of it was to see if others had heard such a rumor. and to see if any of the sources of such a rumor had any credibility. It was out of curiosity, I already am doing alright in the glock department and am not worried. As far as not wanting anyone to panic, I highly doubt that this question will start a panic.
However it does appear that no one else has heard this rumor as of yet, which was more of what I was asking to see.

Are you sure you're not just thinking of the blue-label program?

Glock does some weird things. I was on rings blueguns website. They have a page that states Glock will not allow them to sell blueguns to the general public. Military, Police and us Holster Makers. WTF. it is blue plastic shaped into the likeness of a blue firearm. hello???
I saw that recently also. Then went to Amazon searched for Glock 26 blue gun and bought one from Security Pro out of Ohio I think.
