Searching around for a new AK and I ran into this beautiful 9mm AK, what store in town will have this first locally?
Best part is it runs on glock 9mm mags. I know there isn't a lot of info but what do you guys think of a 9mm ak?

Seems a little gimicky to me. I would assume its a blow back operating system as I doubt you'd get enough gas from a 9mm to operate a piston system.

I don't really see the purpose of it when there are better options out there and it looks like ass.

What other guns are out there in 9mm that take glock mags beside the sub2000? I only shoot glock 9mm handguns so that's why I like that this platform.

If that is a real Molot weapon it should be good. I hope that pic is not it though. The stock and overall configuration is pretty gross.

There is a company that makes AR lowers that take Glock magazines. Can't recall who it is. I bet google could find it.
There's also someone making a carbine that looks a little AR like that takes Glock mags.
Double diamond supply I think is the company that makes the lower receivers.

Think I would go with this one. http://www.lonewolfdist.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=285845
but I think the vepr 9mm ak would be my best option yet

I have one of their old uppers [ sten mags] 10.5 bbl. There's a guy in CT, who will modify your lower to utilize glock mags. I might do that, sell the now blocked to 15rd sten mags. This way one mag 2 different platforms.

The Ruskies don't use 9x19, I doubt the 9x19 they make are going close to combat ready quality.

Combat ready? What if he just wants to plink and likes the Ak platform. We all have go to guns for zombies but we all have guns bought solely to plink with as well

? ? ? Combat ready. define COMBAT READY.
Outside of the pistol caliber it's an AK. How much more Combat Ready quality wise do you need??
I only use 50AE for my combat ready AK.

I meant for something that feed reliablely like AKs should, I don't think a 9mm round have the power to make the heavy long stroke piston cycle nicely.
Usually the pistol caliber conversions on rifles are blowback design.

Come out and shoot my 10" 9mm AR ;)

And the Sub2000 is a blow back. When you can find them, they are pretty good for what they are; pistol caliber carbines. The ability to fold in half makes the S2K a great little truck gun if you get it set up to use the same mags your pistol takes.
For those who may be really interested in pistol caliber ARs, this would be something worth looking into:

Ron Williams apparently has made a little niche for himself building pistol AR uppers and getting mags to work in whichever lower you may be using.

there's 2 on arfcom, 3rd 4th page. There's also an oly upper looks like it takes sten mags, based on the config of the "Modified" units included in the sale. I have an oly mag block if you had access to sten mags. The block looks like something Bert could crank out in an hr.
