Guns to Be Banned for Elderly
Staff Reports
United Press International
Washington

Deputy Attorney General Designate David Ogdenis circulating a draft of an executive order in which, among other things, firearms possession would be severely limited to people over 60.

An assistant to Ogden told us, "It appears that in these changing times, it is no longer necessary to allow the elderly to be armed. With all of their physical ailments and increasing senility, to leave them in control of a deadly weapon would be ludicrous."

While the Executive Order may sound too powerful, experts in Constitutional law state that it is not actually un-Constitutional.

"It's a question of wording." states Columbia Law Professor, Dr. John Braxton. "The Constitution forbids the Congress, that is, the legislative branch, from passing any laws infringing on gun ownership. The executive branch is not included in this proviso. As long as the Congress doesn't get involved, it's technically a non-issue."

The Justice Department was tossing the idea of a gun ban for seniors during the Carter and Clinton Administration, but public opinion stopped these initiatives. Now, the Obama White House believes differently.

An unnamed aide close to Ogden agreed to talk on the condition of anonymity.

"Clinton and Carter didn't have as much of a mandate as President Obama. They were both Southerners, and the Second Amendment was sacrosanct to their constituents. However, President Obama comes from a new sort of politics, where divisive issues like firearms do not apply to him."

"Quite frankly, it's a shame that no one has had the good conscience to have done this already. It's a simple process, and the majority of the American people will understand it and follow the law."

The enforcement mechanism for this particular executive order has not been published. It is likely that the confiscation of weapons will be similar to Great Britain 's handgun ban, in which citizens willingly gave the weapons to police.

It is expected that the executive order will be given around July 1, when senior-related gun deaths reach their peaks.

The aide to Ogden stated: "For eight years you see the rolling back of regulation, and crime has skyrocketed. In fact, in Massachusetts alone, murders have risen 50% since 2002. Armed robbery has also risen dramatically. With such circumstances, we must act boldly."

Good catch KellyTTE

One reason this would never happen is that those over 60 vote, and there are more and more of them every year.

Well, going off the work of fiction,, The reality is More oldsters die of heat stroke in Chicago in the summer than "hip urban youth" do in "gun violence" during the rest of the year.. You would think, The politicians would want to keep that voting block alive and healthy, by coughing up a few bucks for some AC, since they do tend to vote dems more...

I love the smell of sarcasm first thing in the morning...

It sounded fishy when they said crime was up. Crime only goes up when you can't deter or stop or solve crimes. Besides the old and wise know that there is a million ways to off themselves better than using a gun. I won't mention any here though.

The trick to figuring out if the liberals are going to try something is. Think if its usefull and evil. If you get no and yes on those questions its something they would do.

maybe this would work if the elderly have their guns banned?
or even worse, they ban elderly guns!

HOW TO CALL THE POLICE
WHEN YOU'RE OLD
AND DON'T MOVE FAST ANYMORE.

George Phillips , an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light, but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"

He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.

Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."

George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.
"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.
Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

after checking snopes.com, this specific instance isn't real, but they uncovered many instances of similar circumstances that have really occurred.

I know what the law says and all but he should have shot them. It would deter more from coming back.[ROFL1]

Well after going shooting with my Grandpa(never will go with him again) He lights the single action cowboy guns and he loaded up all 6 chambers and fired 5 then pulled the hammer back turned around went to holster it and caught the trigger and sent some lead my way, and here is what he said "I thought these were only 6 shots not 7" , his lights are on but nobody's home and I went with him when he wanted a new pistol and the guy behind the counter though it was great that he is still shooting, and the guy pretty much held my grandpas hand while he filled out the paper work. maybe they should do that test they do for the driver licenses for the older people. Some old people are just not there any more. sorry.

I agree. I am sick to death of these wheel-by shootings at the park. Them damn old people riding by in their Rascals popping caps in each others ass is out of hand. And all because someone cut in front of someones wife in line at the Bingo Parlor or the old coot who took the last helping of grits at Country Buffet.

This needs to stop before you have Grandpa build a .50 cal walking cane. He shoots that and he'll break a hip.
