I bought a pair of pants from them online last week which I found out were a size too small upon delivery. I went to the Thronton store to exchange them for the next size up, sz Small to sz Medium. At the checkout, the lady charged me $6 more to exchange them because the price had changed since last week. I pointed out that I was only exchanging the pants, not asking for a refund. Well, everyone knows that you can't win an argument with a stupid person, so as a courtesy to the other people waiting in line, I just paid the difference to move on.
At the same time, I purchased another pair of pants which was clearly marked 40% off and supported by their Sunday circular. It wasn't until I stopped to look at the receipt in my car that I realized the dip shit charged me full price for them as well, a difference of $16! After going back into the store, and being helped by a different lady who actually had a clue, I was refunded the difference.
Once I got home I called customer service, who agreed that I should NOT have been charged extra to exchange the pants and promised me a refund of the difference back to my card.
Long story short, DOUBLE check your receipt before leaving the store, as (1) some of the people there have no idea what the fuck their doing, and (2) items on sale are not ringing up as they're supposed to. I'm tempted to drop them all together, but I have had gotten some pretty decent deals from them over the years, that is, when they don't have their heads up their asses.

Price issues at the register has been a common complaint with Gander Mountain.
That store front will make a good bestbuy or something once gander shuts down [Coffee]

Without fail, every time I went to Gander, I left pissed about something.
The problem was solved when I quit going.
Do you have a Gander card Randy? If so, that is my company you spoke with on the phone. I am glad we did you right.
You may remember me mentioning I had a Gander card. I got it to show some support to my company, but I have been so disgusted with Gander Mountain I am closing the account. Cabela's is where it is at for me, I just wish my company serviced their credit needs.

One beautiful Sunday morning I called Gander to ask if they had a .44 Magnum. The reply was yes we do. When I got there it was a .44 special. Sarcastically I asked, " they just ain't the same are they". He looked stupid and said "no sir"....

who the hell is still going to Gander???
the place sucks, always has
Problem with retailers.....
I think some retailers (box stores) needs to realize , if they do not get their damn act together, they will follow Companies like Circuit City, Radio Shack, Sears Holding, and JCPenny.

Sometimes stupid works in your favor at Gander. I got a $60 5.11 bag for $40 because someone tagged it as a MIAD grip. I only noticed on the receipt after I left, I just thought it was on sale.

I wear the pants in this relationship.

I don't get it, the Gander Mtn stores here must have the worst management in the entire company, and thereby hire the biggest morons as well. I used to work at one in MN and this kind of stuff just didn't happen there or at other stores in the area.
I too have been to the Thornton store and walked out completely disgusted. It's fricken sad honestly as when they have specials going there are deals to be had, but I'm to the point I won't go in there even if there's a good deal advertised.

Check into a FFL transfer at Gander the guy told me $75 with a straight face.........WHAT??? Yep he handed me Gander Mt FFL paperwork sure enough $75 This tells me "no we don't want your business"
I can proudly say I haven't given them a penny of my money in quite some time. I'll spare you the graphic details of my story. Let's just say that Gander Mountain can suck it.
(Hopefully this pops up when people Google Gander Mountain.)
Suck it, Gander Mountain.

I haven't been to one of their locations for some time. It seemed like they were usually busy whenever I would stop by in the past, the parking lot was always full as well as the shelves... The last few times I stopped by the Aurora location it seemed pretty dead, the place was deserted, It was like they're going out of business.
The last time I was in there I saw a box of 10mm for something like $48...[Roll1] That's what you get for shooting a "wildcat". They are trying to go out of business, they 're just doing it as slow as they can. They aren't even replacing inventory. Selling re-wrapped returns at full price. The one in Aurora is one step up from a Mexican flea market, except without the deals or haggling.

I have seen the same thing. The Gander Store that opened in Tyler Texas when I lived down there was great. I puchased a Kimber .45 and an M&P15 from them among a lot of other items with no issues. Since moving to CO I have never enjoyed going there at all.
Suck it, Gander Mountain.
THIS!
After a week of them having my firearm, it took me calling Gander corporate and asking the rep to have them check to see if I could pick it up. All of my phone calls to the store ended with a response similar to: "We will call you when your order is in... *Click*"
I eventually got an apology from the store manager in E-mail. I will never give them any more of my money ever. I don't enjoy making a free $500 1 week+ loan to companies for merchandise.

You think there will be best buy stores by the time this one goes under?
The last time I was at gander in Aurora they didn't have the big bucket of pretzels anymore.[Rant1]
Has anybody noticed there's a brand new Gander Mtn. in Parker right next to Costco? Opens in Sept.
Fake sale. Gander Mountain Aurora. Going out of business store closing. Everything hiked up and marked down.
Easy fix. [goFyourself][fyou] GM.
Haven't been there and have mo plans.
Mo plans, mo money. Of course they are going out of business. Nobody buys anything there. The guide gear stuff is nice, but if I'm gonna pay north face prices, it should say north face on it.
Gander use to have a good price on used firearm.... of course it was 10-11 years ago.
I ALWAYS carry at Gander Mountain, because of the high probability of me getting robbed there.

Kinda hard to believe they've built a bigass new store.
New store? That's good news! Now I have a choice of stores to avoid. I like me some choices!

Brick and mortars are dying quickly. Too many options when you treat people badly and charge too much. They are in a tough spot competing against no/low overhead internet sellers. Combine that with some really quick deliveries and it's hard to compete. Brick and Mortars aren't going away, just thinning out. You will see a trend as they start closing, internet sellers will be able to charge more. And after a few years of that a resurgence of brick and mortar.
Gander Mountain is awful; take your business elsewhere.
